Mahrez either loves the bench, the cash or both. No idea why city have signed him.

Just more depth I guess, especially for when the CL latter stages come. He will be a reliable option in the league for them I reckon. Agree it is still strange though. I wonder if Bernardo Silva will play inside more often now.

I suppose the other thing is that Sterling hasn't agreed a new deal yet. But Pep loves him, he'll demand that the club keep him whatever it costs.

Joe Hart in talks with Birmingham City.

They need to get rid of Stockdale due to his stupidly high wages...I presume Hart won't be asking for his wages to be a few club shop vouchers each week

Signing some guy called Le Merchand from the same side.

Liverpool have signed Xherdan Shaqiri on a five-year deal, after triggering his £13m release clause.

Five years is a long time for a player who can't put things together for a whole season.

He can’t perform for 90 minutes. Liverpool are just filling out their squad cheaply there, he’ll rarely start.

They've just bought him on the cheap because they know he'll sign for them at the drop of a hat. Fills out their squad for the CL and cup games, to protect the likes of Salah.

For the amount they've paid for him, he'll do all Bear has said plus if he can be arsed there is a bloody good player in there. Klopp will hope he can reinvigorate him in the way he has the Ox.

Jorginho immediately following Sarri into Chelsea.

Also talk that Barcelona are offering Andre Gomes plus cash for Kante. I suspect that would have to be a BOATLOAD of cash for Chelsea to even think about it, but it does alert us to Gomes' availability.

West Ham have spent £36m on Felipe Anderson from Lazio, could rise to £41.5m.

Don't like that scummy club but they are really going for this, impressive, and I really like Pellegrini. If our aim is to push for a Europa place this year then I think it will be them and Everton (if they commit to their clear out and sign some replacements) we will be competing with.
