Marcos Alonso has signed for Chelsea??

He wasn't even good in the Euros. France used him as a time wasting sub in the early games and he was way out of his depth when Germany were passing them off the park. Had a halfway reasonable game in the final.

It's not talent with him anyway (not that he is worth £30m at any point unless we have Zimbabwe style hyperinflation), it's attitude and application. He was genuinely disgraceful for Newcastle for most of the last two seasons, he doesn't try.

Probably doesn't know any dealers in Italy...

Wasn't he kind of shite at Sunderland?

Decent footballer first, exquisite hair second and defending a very distant third. Chelsea were desperate for a LB as they need to get Ivanovic out of the team but he is not the answer. Bizarre how they dicked around with Filipe Luis and in the aftermath have spent around £40m on Baba and Alonso.

I nearly spat my drink out when I saw on SSN that Newcastle value Sissoko at £30m!!

I didn't realise it was April 1st.

TBF he was starting for france in the euros and made it to the final being one of their better players..still £30m is too much..maybe £20-22

I must have missed him starting for France!

Started the dead rubber against Switzerland, then played the QF as Kante was banned and stayed in the team from there on. As I say he wasn't really very good.

Really, he wasnt one of their better players?

Of his four starts:

Switzerland: Nope (no-one played well tbf)
Iceland: Total walkover, had no real impact on the game
Germany: Way out of his depth early on, didn't have a clue against Germany's passing, lucky not to be hooked before HT as he was offering nothing. Had a decent last 20 minutes when the game was stretched
Portugal: Played fairly well in a poor match

I certainly wouldn't say he had a standout tournament, he was better than he looks for Newcastle but that really isn't difficult. He did at least try which is an improvement.

look Dan, I know you hate the guy as much as Seyi, but put the other french midfilders into the same fold and you will realize why big clubs have been after him after the euros

Well Kante and Pogba have both got bigger moves post-tournament, so that doesn't really hold up.

yes, both of those had really big seasons with their respective clubs, so no issue with those
