The Things You Are HAPPY About Thread.

My little girl (9 months old) has hit a development stage - in the space of a week she's worked out how to crawl, stood on her own, and she's suddenly really cuddly and full of cheeky grins - its fantastic!

Good news indeed. The problem is that they grow up far too quickly.

Thats true Frank - when I was a kid the school holidays lasted forever - now it goes from christmas to christmas bloody quickly! My little boys six already... very scary!

I finally own a car, just 6 and a half years after passing my test.

Just booked a week with a couple of friends in Briancon, taking the road bike as there's some legendary mountain passes nearby that cannot be ignored.

Also happens to be the same week that the Tour de France passes through the Alps.

Congratulations, here's to you being permenantly skint! Only joking there's no better feeling than having your own motor for the first time, enjoy

That first £68 fill up was heartbreaking, i didn't think the fucking pump would ever stop!

long journeys aside, it is (relatively) pointless having a brim full tank of fuel. Once you get to over half a tank, it is uneconomical to be constantly transporting the excess weight.

Depends how convenient your trips to the petrol station are, probably waste what you save in extra trips to fill it up if you're only doing half a tank aside, the weight is no worse than carting a passenger aside either.

You're still carrying exces weight, which isn't needed. This just results in extra trips to the petrol station, as well as added cost...

If you carry less fuel then you're going to the petrol station more often so then you're using more fuel making these extra journeys to get more fuel.

Fill it up, drive around, when it's empty i'll fill it up again.

Had a brilliant day today. Good pubs, a top fry up and a trip to the Wolves museum.

Really enjoyed it.

I tend to keep it above half full, it seems to last longer and if your struggling one week at least you've got half a tank of fuel at worst to rely on, the misses on the other hand tends to run hers on fumes, which is no good for the engine

I'm happy that I'll soon be able to toss away the crutches after the surgery. ;) Yay!

And you'll be fucking SICK how long it doesn't last! in a week or two, you'll look at the gauge and think, "What!!! I must have a hole in the fucking tank! Jesus! I've not really been anywhere!"

Welcome to owning a car...
Then there's the Fully comp insurance, Road Tax, NCT or whatever you lot call your two year check up, and the repairs when it doesn't pass and the fee for a retest, and all the petrol in between all that and the cost of a decent service, which if you avoid, gets bigger the longer you leave it....

Mark, your new salary may not be enough.....

Got the tv series "Soap" box set for Christmas and I just think it is brilliant. Something I have been wanting for a long long time.

Unusually for me, it seems I delivered a days training a few weeks ago and oddly didn't issue an invoice for them.
Discovered this last night and am putting it in today.
There's €450 I didn't know I had. That'll go towards the new flooring for the hall and the study!

Zing!!

Good for you!
