Pretty much I think. I sent my dad £180 for four tickets (he had O2 priority and I was at work when they went on general sale anyway) and he forwarded me the email confirmation, think it came to just shy of £350 for six. I’ll have to check my emails, I know the booking fee alone was north of £40. It turned out I owed him another £60 anyway and if I’d known it was going to be that much I wouldn’t have done it. There are some class tribute acts out there who play more of the songs I like for a fraction of the price.Presumably, started at £43 each, plus booking fee, plus card processing fee, plus...
It wasn’t ABBA!Old men dancing to ABBA, IYKYK!
Hey….nowt wrong with old men dancing to ABBA….Old men dancing to ABBA, IYKYK!
Wasn't The Who at Charlton, the one in the Guinness Book of Records, for the loudest ever?1974. Golden Earring and Lynryd Skynryd at Brum Town Hall £1.00.
Montrose, Lindisfarne, Bad Company, Lou Reed, Humble Pie, Maggie Bell and the Who at The Valley, Charlton in May 1974 £2.50.
That was the 1976 gig IIRC.Wasn't The Who at Charlton, the one in the Guinness Book of Records, for the loudest ever?
Oh don’t get me wrong, I did take the girls to see ABBA Reunion last night at the Wulfrun, it’s just the dancing happened before we got there and it certainly wasn’t ABBA we were dancing to! I can’t seem to post a link the the FB post or I would.Hey….nowt wrong with old men dancing to ABBA….
Sounds horrendous.Oh don’t get me wrong, I did take the girls to see ABBA Reunion last night at the Wulfrun, it’s just the dancing happened before we got there and it certainly wasn’t ABBA we were dancing to! I can’t seem to post a link the the FB post or I would.
As for the night, it was ‘meh’ at best. We saw a much better ABBA tribute in Watersmeet earlier in the year and the crowd, well if middle aged women dressed in things they definitely shouldn’t be wearing, drinking more pints than I did, ‘dancing’ so badly and out of control that they keep barging into you and knocking your daughters flying seems like a good night out then it certainly was. I hated it.
One woman in front of us looked like she had a chin on the back of her neck and was that pissed she literally came off her feet backwards and landed on Cass.
Is the guy on the left George Ferguson, beacon radio Dj.Hey….nowt wrong with old men dancing to ABBA….
If you’re gonna do it might as well go all-out I suppose!

Not sure the kids have ever recovered from seeing that photo, but what the heck. Mamma Mia, The Party at the O2. Me and the good lady the two on the outside. Was fun travelling on the tube like that.
Got to have a laugh now and again. Hair and tache courtesy of eBay.
Was great fun though, an absolutely storming night to be fair,
It really was. Honestly there were some right specimens in there, I couldn’t wait to get out.Sounds horrendous.
These are “shock findings” according the the E&S.It really was. Honestly there were some right specimens in there, I couldn’t wait to get out.
At the time. Since then Motörhead (confirmed) and Manowar (disputed) have been louder. That was the 1976 gig IIRC.
Haha nooo…. George is safe, his doppelgänger was for one night only.Is the guy on the left George Ferguson, beacon radio Dj.
If not it's an identical twin.
Manowar at 129.5 dB were called the loudest by Guinness. Guinness later removed this from their record books so as not to be seen to encourage other bands going out to beat it...At the time. Since then Motörhead (confirmed) and Manowar (disputed) have been louder.
No idea why it's a shock, Wolverhampton city centre on the whole is a shit tip and last night for me really was the epitome of the people around here. Comparing it to the gig at Watersmeet where everybody just had a really good night, a few drinks to make the mood and were just a really nice crowd, the absolute state of the shit we had to put up with last night was just vile. Obviously I'm not tarring everybody in Wolves with the same brush but if that's what you get at an ABBA tribute then there's no hope. The Wulfrun itself was quite nice, I was impressed with what they've done with the place and the staff were really friendly. These are “shock findings” according the the E&S.
Wolverhampton residents struggle to think of positive words for city centre
Forty-one per cent of people living within the vicinity of Wolverhampton city centre said they could not think of anything positive to say about it. And only a third of people living within a 15-minute radius saw it as their primary shopping destination.www.expressandstar.com
Sounds to me like you'll be moving next door to Kenny. No idea why it's a shock, Wolverhampton city centre on the whole is a shit tip and last night for me really was the epitome of the people around here. Helen has said that when she moves back up here and we finally get a house together that she doesn't want it round here, Bentley (where she's from), or anywhere within a fifteen minute drive of Wolves or Walsall. And while I hated the thought at first I'm in total agreement with her. There's nothing enticing left in Wolves and apart from matchdays (when I actually make it these days) and the Hogs there's nothing there I want to go for. If Rickmansworth was a sensible commute away I'd be packing up and moving in with her instead.
I was hoping it would be a surprise!Sounds to me like you'll be moving next door to Kenny.
