The Things You Are HAPPY About Thread.

Oh wow, how nice was that being back inside again. Bloody wonderful. Beer, wine, food. And to be sat opposite someone, and have an actual conversation. To hear laughter, to smile and make plans. Just so uplifting and a real spring in the step today.

Taking the bull by the horns and making changes. The lockdown routine of a glass of wine while cooking the ‘Hello Fresh’, a glass of wine while you are eating it, and a glass of wine afterwards (because you can’t leave that little bit in the bottle) can just FRO. And watching shite TV with a fuzzy head and not sleeping great can get in the bin too.

I mean each to their own, but have to say that’s it for alcohol at home. It wasn’t the volume that was the concern, just the frequency, the lockdown monotony and creeping bad habits. You even stop enjoying it after a while. Christ, lockdown has a lot to answer for.

So that it, dust ourselves down and off we go again. Reset and rebalance. It feels great.

And long may it continue. Hope you guys all get to feel the same uplift too.

Me and the wife have booked an airBnB on Guernsey for a few nights in the first week of August.
Her Grandfather was born on Jehtou so we're on a family tree hunt!

We've both done our DNA through Ancestry and to no ones surprise I came back as 91% Irish :ROFLMAO:
Also in my family history hunt I found that some of my dad's relatives were involved in the setting up of St Patricks Athletic FC and that 2 of dad's brothers played for them in the early days of the club.

Dublin back on the list for a revisit now too, then...

Bloody hell....seems Scotland is gunna be rammed in the Summer
Yep, I’ll be there too.

Booked a couple of months ago when it became clear a foreign holiday wasn’t going to be worth the faff. Hardly anywhere left and the costs astronomical. Found a little place on the Kingairloch Estate which is about 500 miles from here and involves a little ferry across Loch Linnhe. Will be a heck of a trek to get to but it’s remoteness should mean it’s away from the crowds. But, you never know, it does look like Scotland is going to be rammed for sure.

You’d never have thought you’d have to sell a kidney to finance a week in Scotland, but if you can find anywhere left at all now it’s what you’ll have to do.

The midges of Scotland look forward to welcoming you all in the summer months!

Been to Scotland often, it always been on the pricey side....hoping its not too crowded, we're right up North first week near Beauly, then second week in Argyle which I'm expecting to be busy

Was just driving through a village nearby and saw a sign outside the village hall saying ‘Bingo here 8.00pm Wednesday,”

Ok so it’s not my thing, but that must be a right shot in the arm for those that looked forward to it every week and just wandered over for a game of bingo and a bit of a natter. Sounds a bit daft but just seeing that reminds you how tough it’s been for all sections of society and how great it is the corner seems to have been turned too.

It's been genuinely horrible, I saw my best mate for the first time in 11 months last week, it's crazy.

It's hurt me and probably permanently.

I'm still trying to get my head around the fact I've actually booked us somewhere to go on Thursday. We can actually do something. Fuck knows how she's got through months with me, I'm a moaning bastard at the best of times.

What does my nut in is that fat cunt in No 10 pretending he's doing us a favour. I'll do you a favour, son.

Just come back from two weeks in Devon. Beaches virtually empty, lovely weather, great walks and Fish and Chips.

Need to book another holiday asap!

This coming Saturday...a nice 8 hour or so drive (could do it in 5 and a half but you know, 2 dogs won't accept that) to stay somewhere near Cupar in Scotland (not that far from St Andrews)

This will be our home for the week. Old coach house set in 50 acres of private land.

My brain is still set that this will be cancelled though, so beating through the anxiety of that is fun
