This is true. I get recruiters reaching out to me about vacancies 2-3 times per month.

If you ignore all the try-hards polluting your newsfeed and make sure your profile is up to date and is as detailed as possible, it makes you more visible for recruiters doing keyword searches.

I think its unlikely - all transfers are on hold because of Covid and my line manager was very unhappy about it.

Have you marked yourself as available on LinkedIn? Like DDW I get recruiters contacting me at least once a week (even when I'm not 'available'). Its a messy place, but I did get my current job from there and have hired a few from there too. Need to make sure your skills are marked correctly though.

I find Reed Network the easiest to use but after the email confirming your application, you never hear anything again....ever.

Recruitment people are genuine parasites, but if they pick you up for a job on linkedin you will definitely get an interview.

I used to be a recruiter and can confirm that most of them are parasites. For the past 6-7 years I've used recruiters and can confirm that most of them are as thick as pig shit.

They think they're most skilled than people who sell double glazing door to door but they really aren't.
