The Things You Are HAPPY About Thread.

I think there will be plenty of time for curry jinks. I was thinking of a night in the Bilash just before I fly. Edinburgh would be nice to see one more time though.

It's bittersweet happy I guess.

Next season, assuming we even get in the ground, will be my last season ticket. Squeeze and I are splitting up after a few years of happy marriage. It's amicable and for the best.

The upshot is an opportunity to change my life with no real ties to Blighty any more. So this time next year I will be emigrating. Off to Oz. Nice house going up. Job pretty much in the bag. I will be a Queenslander which will make Leedswolf spew!

Excited . Nervous. Mourning for a great relationship that simply ran its course. Life throws curveballs at times.

I'm sorry to hear about that Pad.

I can only wish you all the best for your future life, it sounds like its some adventure.

Ps you should be able to watch some decent league games over there!

The NRL certainly. The league ladder looks good for QLD.

Broncos are rubbish at the moment. Ho hum.

I am definitely getting a ticket for the ashes at the Gabba though. Come hell or high water.

Broncos will be back I'm sure, I stood on the terraces with my late granda at a very murky Central Park as a 12 year old watching them win a world club challenge, the buggers!

Bit more on our house saga...

Looking like the process on the new house will be a quick one. Had no idea you could purchase searches off a previous interested buyer! Just waiting for them to sign a consent form and our solicitors will have all the searches in a matter of days rather than weeks. The previous folk tried to take advantage of the Covid siutation and reduced their offer by £17,500 saying the housing market was collaspsing and that is now a fair price....owners told them to do one.
So by the end of this week should have in place the searches, draft contracts and our revised mortgage offer (house being valued on Friday for the final tick). So then its just enquiries to sort and we are close to getting this through in some shit hot time, which is good as our buyer is a tad annoyed right now

Fingers crossed for you kenny!
We were very lucky with ours - empty house with no chain either way. Viewing to offer accepted was 24 hours (another buyer was interested)
It was then generally 8 weeks of solicitors seeming to do fuck all. Masses of busy-ness at the first appt, and then in the days leading up to the exchange.

Its all the bollocks they have to do and if they are slow workers it is a killer. Searches 2-3 weeks to get them from the Land Registry (probably slower right now due to reduced office staff), then they have to look at them and ask questions to the seller, then you are waiting on them to reply etc. It comes across as work that could be done in a few days but why take 2 days when 4 weeks is better
I will say though, our solicitors are shit hot and do actually get their work done quickly....probably because they are sick and tired of hearing from us, asking questions and pushing them.

Good luck on this Kenny - repurchase of searches has been around for a while, but there is a relatively short time period that they are still valid. Makes sense as nothing will have changed.

As to speed - yes continually annoying other solicitors with phone contact helps. Quickest move I managed was 23 days between offer acceptance & completion date (important as 1 child was due to start a new school in 30 days time), but only as my solicitor (who was a mate of mine) was constantly chasing so the others got fed up & just did it to get him to go away.

I was thinking of a night in the Bilash just before I fly.

I think that would be a splendid idea, literally just before the door closes and you're in a pressurised tin can with a few hundred innocent souls for several hours.

Edinburgh would be nice to rape stare one more time though.

Fixed.

But, who will replace "Mark Kennennery"? I'll go for "Adamamamamaa Truuuray"

I guess it's time to post this.

I proposed to my girlfriend a week ago and she said yes.

4 months of quarantine and we've not killed each other so why not, eh?

So as I'm a masochistic, I have to plan a wedding, move house and moderate this bloody forum....
