The Things You Are HAPPY About Thread.

My beautiful garden, as created by Paddington - hiding his landscape architect light under his everyman bushel.

My vacation sucked, but I went through all the pictures last night and got a ton of great shots from the big party I attended... Also got a few very cool ones of a Jaguar eating. Nice.

Back up to Mablethorpe this weekend. Hoping the weather stays hot and sunny.

A Jaguar eating what?
A hyena or a gazelle?

Or were you eating a Jaguar?
and if so, why would you do that?
Was it petrol or diesel? Oh and watch out when you get to it, but those little carburettors can stick in your throat.

4 months....

But I want to get a fair chunk of my dissertation done over the summer.

We didn't even get to choose our title/topic until a few weeks before the start of the year, each of the 7-8 supervisors submitted 4-5 titles that you could choose, first come first serve, or you could submit your own idea to whoever the relevant lecturer was for the subject. I suppose some of the literature review could've been done through the summer, if you were dead set on one particular field, to get a head start on it but then if you missed out on the titles in that field, that supervisor became over subscribed or your own ideas weren't deemed good enough then you'd have to start all over again.

I'm guessing you've already settled upon your idea though?

Our proposal with a mini literature review, research methods, working title etc was in for a month ago!

We can study whatever we want, I'm looking at how stadia redevelopments aid urban regeneration.

I quite liked how it was done, with supervisors putting forward some default ideas to save you the hassle of coming up with your own, i just wish they'd done it earlier, they could've done it at the end of the 2nd year like you've got or at least earlier on in the summer break. I ended up changing my title and aims/objectives about 5-6 times throughout the project as i kept running into different things i couldn't really find anything about or any reasonable way to measure in my own research so i had to shift focus over to other areas of it where i had more potential to explore.

I pretty much hated it though, especially the literature, didn't mind doing my own research even though it was only a shitty postal survey, i had a good supervisor though who really helped with a lot of things, he was easily the best lecturer i had through my time at uni, some of them may as well have given out some printed notes and just fucked off for most lectures.

My little boy.

I don't care how soppy this sounds, but he's a little treasure.

3 years old and he took his 'Wolves Ball' (it was yellow and black) to the beach and defended it so well that Berra and Stears would learn from him.

My two sproglets have made me so happy. They rule. Xx

Kids are the greatest !!

My one grandson was describing to me yesterday how snakes lose their skin every year and put it in a shed !

I hadnt the heart to tell him, no, they shed their skin !

Kids are pretty ace.

What's making me particularly happy at the moment, is that my bird is looking after her sister's two kids for 5 days, and is now realising quite how much hard work it is!

Finally the kids break up from school, enjoying a 3 day weekend and temperatures in the mids 30's!!!

My boys did well in a 6-a-side tournament, with some of the shall we say 'not so good' players really impressing. They cruised through their group and dominated in the quarter finals game, losing to a lucky goal in extra time. They played some top stuff and next season we should have a really good team.

During the tournament I was approached by a Chelsea scout, asking mainly about one of my players (who has signed a two year contract with West Ham) and saying that we could possibly play a match at Cobham, showcasing our players. He gave me his card and I am definitely going to give him a ring this week.

Agreed my first sale of a property today. Happy days!
