The Rugby Thread

Very glad nothing silly came from that. We don't need this game to turn into a war. Play the game. Good drive by England thoroughly deserves the penalty that follows.

Saying that, the commentator is RIDICULOUSLY England biased.

Who? Edwards? ;)

Surprised he just checked with the TMO for a mo - Brown did nothing wrong in sorting that out and it was clearly a good try.

Risky stuff there England. No need.

16-9 is probably about right so far. Not as attritional as I feared it might be.

Wales come back into it a bit but England deservedly ahead at HT.

Penalty scored by Wales & only 16 - 9 down at half time.

Given the way the play has gone suspect Wales will be happy that they are that close - signs in the last few minutes that they are starting to get their game together.

Pretty bruising match so far though

Same problems with England not turning good positions into points.

Impressions of the first half - Wales have been catastrophically poor in the set piece. You just cannot do that in top international rugby. England haven't been awesome, but they have been solid and look very good at blocking Wales' work through the channels. England's pack is looking very dominant, but there is hope still for those in red. Hopefully we get a bit more open rugby in the second half but it is a decent game, if not a classic.

I find this interesting. England haven't been camped in the Welsh 22 really. The try came from fast work the first time they really got there. I think England have taken just about every point on offer in that first forty.

Happy to just take the penalty hit in the last ten of the half. Got ourselves into a couple of nervy positions.

Probably a fair reflection of the game so far but not at all comfortable.

Had a line out and gave away a penalty in front of the posts early on, not finding touch from a penalty when it would have put them in a attacking position.

Agreed and I'd go further by saying that Farrell had no right really to knock his drop goal over given the quality of the pass back to him.

England coming out firing second half but that Burgess kick was awful and took a bit of the wind out of it. Wales can't get into it at the moment.
