The Rugby Thread

Ireland won rightly so but a poor competition really, France nowhere near where they should be, Wales just way too inexperienced. England slowly moving forward but still way of competing properly for the title. Italy a real bright spark and now have put together regular 80 minute performances.
Scotland most overrated sides around, only won twice and moaned all autumn about the World Cup draw, its 6 nations like this is why you keep getting groups of death.

Thought the England France game was excellent, pity we couldn't hang on but we've got better as the tournament went on. Some good young players coming through.

Great tournament for Italy. But for a kicking tee malfunction we would have had three wins, and the closest we've come to beating England. Blown away by Ireland, but no shame in that.

There isn't a practice squad at this time of the year. He'll go into camp and they'll take it from there. As a player from the International pathway he'll be a free PS addition if that's the route they go down, but with the change to kick offs that was passed this week, he could earn a place on special teams and therefore the main 53.

Wasn't aware of the kickoff changes. Seems unnecessarily complicated (although I've currently had a couple of beers, took a lot of attemptsto type unnecessarily...), I'd have just had a touchback from a kickoff being placed on the 40 yard line.
Don't like having to declare an onside kick either, the surprise is an integral part of it.

It's to make it a football play again, 2300 kicks went into the end zone last year, they are trying to make it interesting without the concussion issues. I'm not sure there are many surprise onside kicks, fake punts, but not onside kicks, 99% of the time it's trying to come from 2 scores down in the last couple of minutes of the game. They need to adopt the Eagles 4th and 20 proposal which at some point they will.

Onside kicks became near impossible since they changed that you had to stay in formation.

Fantastic first half in the Champions Cup final.

One benefit of giving up my ST is I have no excuse not to play rugby again next year.

Was at it great occasion & atmosphere. Shows you don't need a bucketful of tries to have a great game.

Dupont is some operator.

On a side note, stadium shows the gulf between ourselves & Tottenham off the pitch. Facilities which extract the maximum coin out of fans without the feeling of being fleeced.

Yep. They do not have like for like players coming through though.

What more can you expect there?
True. I thought he was terrible, the players just couldn't understand some of the decisions.

Overall a decent performance by England though. Just the rub of the green today and last week.

Very nice to get a win over South Africa on Saturday , a last second drop goal by Ciaran Frawley to win by 1 point . Our performance was far from brilliant , conceded a lot in the scrum and they kicked penalties all game long ( they scored no tries ) .

Whatever it takes to keep Rassie Erasmus quiet will do .
