The R.I.P. Thread

James Watson, American scientist who co-discovered the structure of DNA, aged 97

Ah sad news, he did a lot to introduce EVs in the UK.

Baroness Helen Newlove, the victims' commissioner for England and Wales, has died aged 63 following a short illness, her office has said.

I’m properly gutted by that, fantastic bass player, and seemed genuinely loved by the music business

Udo Kier, 81 (Yuri, Red Alert franchise. Acted in a lot of films including Blade, Korn's Make Me Bad video, and so on)

Viola Ford Fletcher 111 ( one hundred and eleven) nobody famous, she was one of the last survivors of the Tulsa race massacre in 1921, started when a newspaper sensationally reported a black man had assaulted a white woman, an angry mob of white people were massing outside a courthouse, armed black men turned up to stop him getting lynched, two days of violence ensued, hundreds were killed and 35 blocks of buildings housing black families were burnt to the ground.

That team got my mates and I into Hockey for a while in the late 80s when we were in the 6th Form and we started to play the game, set up our own school Hockey team

There’s a name from the past. Sad news. For whatever reason that team also really resonated with me. Kerly was the star CF I think? Also got me into hockey at a school which was otherwise pure footy, and I found myself playing and thoroughly enjoying it at a decent level. A fantastic game to play (if not to watch so much).
