The R.I.P. Thread

Benik Afobe announces that his two year old daughter has died from a severe infection.
R.I.P. little one.
How sad.

R.I.P. Bob Willis

His 8 for 43 against Australia at Headingley in 1981 will live forever in my memory.
One of England's greatest bowlers.

I used to love some of his comments on 'The Cricket Debate', where he could be an awkward sod. I'll miss him.

Agree, his part in that Headingly test is one of my all time fav sporting moments

Didn't know of him until this summers Ashes, where Sky did the Ashes in the 80s documentary during the lunch break

8-43

People call it Botham's Ashes but without Bob it wouldn't have happened. We would have lost Headingley.

A magnificent bowler. Fast, banging it into the pitch and metronomic in where he hit that pitch. One of the best.

And his later career as the doleful critique of the latest England aberration, he was equally superlative.

I will miss you Bob Willis. My cricket loving life is somewhat darker now you have left it.

Shocked when I heard earlier. One of my childhood heroes. R.I.P. RGDW.

A 2nd line engineer who I've worked with for a few years (but in no way close) committed suicide last night/early today. Absolutely tragic for his family and close colleagues.

Ron Saunders. A man to whom we should all be grateful. Possibly a relief to his family as I know he had Alzheimer's for a number of years
