The R.I.P. Thread

Ric Ocasek of the Cars. age 75. I always had a soft spot for the Cars.

That's sad news - loved The Cars from when I was a kid.

Rick Bognar aged 49

Best known as being the fake Razor Ramon in the WWF

James' contributions to this thread suggest there needs to be a serious investigation into the practices of WWF in the 90's

Im sure that Vince was found not guilty, to be honest listening to the podcasts, I cannot think of a worse lifestyle than what these men and girls were putting themselves through

I didn't and don't follow it and sorry, so don't get your reference but so many men dieing in their 40s and 50s isn't normal

A combination of steroids, addiction to painkillers and multiple undiagnosed concussions coupled with a brutal travel schedule. It is a freakishly high number of people that die relatively young

Doesn't all that massively enlarge their heart as well?

Barrie Masters front man for Eddie and The Hotrods.

Ginger Baker.

Only just seen this, terrific iconic drummer, up there with Keith Moon and Neil Peart for me.....weirdly last night while missus was watching some crap on telly, I was looking at power trios on youtube, mainly Robin Trower but also of course Cream, will probably get the dvd of their return to the Albert Hall out later

Don't mate, get the original Farewell concert by all means but the return concerts were akin to buying a 1997 bottle of Patris for £250 and then finding out that some one had mixed it with lemonade, and I worshipped Cream for years ! This is purely my opinion by the way :)

Alexei leonov 85, proper hero and brave man, first person to walk in space, would you have left the capsule and gone into space in an untried suit? No, me neither. If you've never read what happened, google it,it's quite the boys owns action story

Leonov, Gagarin, Tereshkova, Shepherd, Grissom, Chaffee, Armstrong, Aldrin, etc etc etc

Laika the dog

All the space explorers were insanely brave and their bravery should always be saluted.

I'm on the side of the Russians space wise, doing it on the cheap, but comprehensively beating the Americans every time, think Tereshkova is still the only woman to command a space flight.
You're right though all proper brave heroes,it's just we've become blasé about space flights
