The R.I.P. Thread

If Will Self were to drop dead tomorrow should we assume it's a heroin overdose? How about Paul McCartney, dropped a bit too much LSD?

As usual some on here are pushing it to the extreme. TPT was a socialite and had her fair share of issues. She also was bravely battling cancer. Ultimately she lost that fight but whether , ultimately, it was the tumour that caused her death we dont know. Just like we didnt know with George Michael. Amy Winehouse died of a heart attack I believe. It is always sad when someone passes at a young age. In some cases its a shock. In others not such a shock due to some previous history, even if its not the final cause. Its not insulting, disrespectful or rude. Its just being human, I have a minor heart condition. I smoked for 28 years, therefore when diagnosed I was not surprised. My colleague never drank or smoked yet died of cancer in his 40's. That was a surprise. Does that clarify things?

What does it matter what people died of? And why speculate, what does it matter to people other than the family (or authorities)

It all seems a little tasteless to me.

Absolutely.

Judging recently deceased people on what they did decades ago and have long since repented is abhorrent, especially when the understanding amounts to "drugs kill people and she used to do drugs".

Sometimes I think I have joined a forum of pious vicars! No one expects the spanish inquistion!

Oh and that was a joke for those really sensitive. We all need to get out more dont we?

Sione Lauaki, former All Black has passed aged 35..........

Bit of an obscure one for most of you, but the bassist for the band Kittie, Trish Doan, has passed away aged 31...

Christ. That is no age. I've just seen that Stacy Bromberg (former US women's dart player) passed on the 13 February. She was 60.

TPT "Tara died of natural causes - a perforated ulcer. She did not have a brain tumour".

There's a well known made up link between decade-old charlie binges and ulcer perforation actually.

So none of us knew, even those assuming it was from her tumour. Now who's pompous?

No one did. One or two kept an open mind that it might be related.

It's not a fair insinuation to make though.

As I said last week, when Paul McCartney dies I don't expect anyone to link it to his use of drugs 50 years ago.

It wasn't that long ago with TPT for it to be completely dismissed though.

Coke abuse doesn't really kill people very often. Your bank balance, sure.

She'd been clean for over a decade which I would say is more than long enough for the benefit of the doubt to be granted to her. All a bit needless.

Plus the initial reports said it was a brain tumour. Like on the FUCKING BBC.
