The R.I.P. Thread

Stephen King is a genius, so much of his work turned to films that many don't realise.

Such as Shawshank, Green Mile, Misery etc..

Creepy weirdo at times though (the Stand)

The Stand is probably his best work of his that I've read (maybe It), I listened to the audiobook of Salems Lot whilst I was away recently and enjoyed it.

Arguably Soul's best work...

The Stand is brilliant, absolutely loved it. The gun rape though? Nope.

Also in IT when there is the orgy amongst teenage kids? Not right.

But the Stand is an outstanding piece of literature, pity the TV versions haven't been great despite the cast (Whoopi Goldberg and Alex Skarsgard)

Graham Masterton has be the most fucked up writer of horror I've read. Makes King's stuff look like Beatrix Potter.

Hardly any dialogue cast of Dennis Hopper and that’s about it. Great film

I've read a few bits of Stephen King, but I was more a James Herbert guy in my youth.
Me and my missus read all his stuff in the 80s, thought it was brilliant, wonder if it holds up now? Might revisit him.
The thread police are a thing of the past, anarchy is where its at now.

Can tell he’s not a proper coach driver,
Not fat enough,
Doesn’t have a terrible haircut,
Not wearing a blazer

His books are still brilliant and he is very prolific. Not so much horror these days but they are just a great read.
