The Official World Cup 2018 Megathread

It's Vicky Sparks commentating.

They'd probably both 'get it', which is the main thing.

We got a mention on the BBC Live text. Referred to Rui's save as Mike Stowell-esque, which was moderately amusing

Portugal is the proof that the theory that national teams don't need a good manager is a myth.

Here is some trivia for you. Morocco's CB Manuel da Silva is actually portuguese.

If his name would be less Portuguese it would have been good trivia [emoji41]

To be fair, of all 23 of Morocco's squad, only 5-6 of them were actually born in Morocco

I've often thought Amrabat looks pretty decent but he never seems to get much attention, perhaps I've just caught him on his good days?

I've often thought that. But then he couldn't get a place in a fairly crap Watford side this season and was loaned out. Why has he taken off the headwear?

Also - how is he playing in the first place? I've read he spent a night in hospital after his concussion?

He's a bit of a blind alley merchant. Some skill but little to ever show for it. A van La Parra style record of two league goals in the last three seasons speaks volumes.

Not sure why he ever had it on to be honest? Was expecting to see a bit cut on his head or something but haven't noticed anything.

Portugal's left back is getting torn a new one every time they get the ball over to Amrabat, it's been like a 10 year old trying to stop his dad at times.

Loving Joao Mario's influence on that first half. The Tony McCarroll of this Portugal team.

He had a concussion (which the Morocco physio's response was to slap him in the face) and they seem to think a headguard will do the trick now. It's poor from them.

Guerrero is a good footballer but not really a left back for me, would be good as a wing back for a decent side though...
