The stuttering run up is very effective when done well, commit the keeper and you get a tap in, not really any worse than picking your side and going all in, just ask that 4th Croatian penalty taker how he felt about his super committed run up.

Isn't it the other way round? Hit high the keeper stands a chance because he hasn't got so far to go,hit low,he has to get down and across

If its in the top corner no matter what the keeper does its physically impossible for a goalkeeper to leap that far and high.

Hit it high in the middle of the goal..but easier to hit it lower and not over the bar..
