well its on to the lottery knockouts after this next few days and I really dont care who we face. Brazil are capable but havent looked great. Germany look fine going forward but havent kept a clean sheet this year, Argentina scraped the group qulification because others failed to capitalise not because they played particularly well in any game, although they did improve against Nigeria- still nothing to worry about. Portugal still rely too much on Ronaldo, Uruguay look tired and inflexible, France dont know their best team or best way to play,Russia have home advantage but after that arent that good , England themselves look frail at the back at times and imbalanced if Young plays on the left , Belgium after tomorrow we cant meet until the final and they have some of the best talent across the park. In knockout football anything can happen as we all know. VAR will have an influence. Someone will get sent off. One team will get a lucky break. One team will scrape through on penalties becuase the other failed to take their chances during normal time and extra time. It will happen. As an England fan I hope we get the luck, dont concede the penalties, dont get players sent off and beat whomever we face. We are surely due a bit of luck against many of the big sides. Portugal and Germany have done us on penalties, Argentina with the hand of god and Beckhams petulance plus Sol Campbells header being wrongly ruled out, Uruguay last time, maybe it is our turn for the gods to smile. Thats what it needs. You do not win world cups playing great football. Thats Holland 1974 and 78. You do it with luck and hitting the right form in the right moment thats Italy 1982 and 2006
