Ruddy- Decent solid season. A couple of high profile errors that cost us points but overall he has been excellent. Better at organising and a decent shot stopper. Kicking and punching are areas for improvement but a solid first season. The double save v Birmingham was as good as you will see. 7.5
Norris- Although in a reserve role, he has shown himself to be an adequate understudy and a real bargain. Certainly one for the future and may even be good enough to displace Ruddy next season. See Pope for potential 7
Hause – A background role for him this year but did ok when he did play. Will hope to be part of the squad next year 6
Miranda- Flattered to deceive really. Looked very good to start with but then faded. Probably wont be here next year 5
Boly- Excellent , sign him up. A composed , commanding presence who has dealt with the championship very well and has shown more than enough to suggest he would handle the premier league 8.5
Coady- Last season he was a 2million misfit who we all agreed should be sold for 200k. Now he looks like a quality player in the centre of a back 3 and is probably worth more than we paid for him! A real captains season and great leadership qualities. 8
Bennett- A surprise . Has done really well and looked the part. Cool composed if a little limited. A real surprise find . Whether he has enough for a premier league regular berth remains in question.7
Batth- Hoof Hoof Hoof! We have said it all along. His appearances this year have shown how technically limited DB is. I think he will leave in the summer. 5
Douglas. Great left foot, bang average defensively. If he could defend he would be a shoe in next year. I fear he will be upgraded but that should not detract from a solid season 7
Phil- Not seen enough of him.
Doherty- Great strides have been made with Mr Gloves. Whether he possesses enough ability or can be coached to defend properly week in week out in the premier league is a big doubt. He has been much more of an attacking threat and has had his best season in a Wolves shirt. 7.5
MGW- Great potential and , whilst appearance have been limited , he has shown enough to suggest that he could play in the premier league. 7
Saiss- Another who has improved and shown enough quality to suggest that a consistent premier league player is within. He works very well with Neves and has scored a couple too. 7
Neves- Probably the most gifted midfield talent I have seen wearing a Wolves shirt. It’s a crime that he has spent a season in the championship really. Our gain though! Easily our POTS and my hope is that he stays with us to enable us to build that level of strength around him. If he does and w4e do build we will be some team 9
NDiaye. Solid , strong and capable. I like him. Good back up for the premier league 6.5
Costa- Fewer chances to shine but when he has had them has shown the ability we know he possesses. Needs to toughen up a bit. Can be knocked over or off the ball a bit too easily. 7.5
Cavalliero- Has come into his own this season and looks a quality attacking player. Strong, solid and technically gifted he has an eye for both creating and finishing. A very good investment 8
Bonatini- Started like he was going to be our number 9 for a decade but fell away with the goals. Still an excellent hold up player for the championship but that wont be enough for the premier league I fear. 6.5
Afobe- A win win with a loan move. He would probably be a decent off the bench option in the premier league but I am not convinced he will get you 15 premier league goals a season and that’s what we need. 6.5
Jota- Excellent technically gifted creative player. Should have enough about him to prosper in a higher league. 8
Nuno- excellent first season. He has shown very good player management skills. He has also instilled a different mentality in the club. Its very much his way. Yes he has made some tactical mistakes but the team has learnt from them. He has passion, nous and strength.Overall he appears to be an excellent fit. 9
Summary
A fantastic season, culminating in promotion to the premier league. More than many of us hoped for. Time to say goodbye to several of this squad though. Danny Batth is likely to go as are several others . I cannot see Fosun letting sentiment get in the way of ambition.

So its Neves, Boly, Coady as my top three

Batth hasn't hoofed this season, his distribution is weak and he'll move on in the Summer I'd have thought but he has tried to pass it this year.

Batth hasn't hoofed this season,

Indeed.

Go back to the Match threads during Boly's spell out injured and people were praising Nuno for how Batth was playing. Sadly for Danny, he has had a couple of shockers when put in this year and also Bennett replaced him and took everyone by surprise with his performances.

Batth was fantastic vs Villa at home. So was Miranda. Both were iffy vs PNE (second half) and QPR and then it was goodbye to both as first choice. When both have had limited chances since, they haven't stepped up to the mark (well, Danny was fine vs Leeds, Bolton and Sheff Wed, but he didn't have much to do in any of those games).

Jota- Excellent technically gifted creative player. Should have enough about him to prosper in a higher league. 8

I think Jota will shine a lot more if we add even more quality around him. Neves of course will and the rest, but I think there's more to come from Jota especially.

It's the first time in many a year that this vote is an actual competition worth thinking about. There are a multitude of deserving candidates IMO: Coady, Boly, Saiss, Cav, Jota, Bennett, Doherty, Douglas all could stake a claim... but one man stands above them all, the player that got better and better and better, the man who made Wolves tick, Neves. What a player. Best player in a Wolves shirt I have ever seen.

Poll speaks for itself, really. :)

Got to be Nevsh. Unbelievable talent, brain and vision. And he's gotten better and better as the season has progressed.

Defenders are too often underappreciated so I voted for Boly. He has been a one man defence all season, pretty sure I haven't seen a better defender in Wolves colours.

But, yeah, I probably should have voted for Ruben like the rest if you, for reasons too obvious to explain.

Got to be Doc. Sensational this season.

Ok, I jest, Neves

/thread

What other season would Douglas, Jota, Cav and Costa get zero votes between them? THAT’S how good we’ve had it. But fuck your tickets to Starworks coz you ignored me after the Wednesday game you bastards.

Whilst i accept Neves as the best player, i think Coady deserves player of the year for the u-turn in his Wolves career. a lot of his work goes un-noticed, whereas Neves is more in the spotlight.
What a season though when so many players not getting a vote and have played so well.

I'm surprised Jota has got zero votes - scored 18 goals while not playing as an out and out striker and looked to be able to take on the world himself pre-xmas.

I absolutely love Jota but had to go for Neves. I still can't believe we've have two players that talented playing for us in the Championship. It's ridiculous.
