Hitzlsperger tells it like it is.....we play for another draw against Wales and we'll be out next round because you can't just switch gears and go from first to fifth in the knockout stages, you have to built some momentum.

Don't agree with that. World cup history is full of winners, finalists and semi finalists who have staggered through the tournament. Pretty much everyone has at least one poor group result too.

Just been watching an interesting concept on BBC1, Kings Lynn Town losing 3-0 to Stevenage.
Real honest fast moving football where BOTH teams were running, and Both teams trying to win! Fancy that.
Following the England game where to a greater or lesser degree, you had both teams a lot of the time trying not to lose.
Alvechurch and Forest Green Rovers are on next. Think I'll stick with it...

Are you comparing a non-league team to International football and saying England should play the same tactics?

In 1998 France needed penalties to get past Italy and extra time to get past Paraguay. Scored three goals in the R16, QF and SF - one by Laurent Blanc and two by Lilian Thuram (his only ever international goals in 142 caps, in the same game as well).

Can’t remember about Argentina 1978 tbh
Italy were awful in the group in 1982.
Argentina needed extra time in QF and SF in 1986
