The Official FIFA World Cup 2022 Megathread

Well they can buy the World Cup, change the first game on their own whim, ride roughshod through FIFA sponsorships so what else can they buy?
Would have been better off bribing some better defenders really

Does the "daylight" offline rule apply everywhere, or just the Prem? Just wondering what level of margin the VAR is looking for. Assume the standards are the same everywhere but you never know.

It wasn't that blatant a decision, come on now.

Money to burn if they can bribe that as offside.

We haven't seen a proper replay Alan, have you?

According to the BBC ticker. It was a foul on the keeper

Mhm, just before I posted that it was tight. And it was. See calls like it regularly, though, IMV.

Not trying to defend Qatari honor or anything here, just don't see that particular call as a smoking gun that the fix is in.

They've just showed some weird 3d offside thing and I'm still far from convinced tbh

Pen! Thought he was gonna bottle that then

There's your offside. Tight, but potentially right

This Qatari goalkeeper comes with the Benny Hill theme tune

Penalty! They're gonna have disallow a lot of goals for Qatar to get anything from this. As expected they're abysmal.

Qatari keeper would get cut from a National League squad.

Yeah I'm not even convinced the 3d thing relates to the pic I've just posted above...now more confused!

They've got a couple of exciting players going forward but very little else. Their #10 was also decent at the Gold Cup.

#3 is physically gifted as shit but it's obvious he's never been coached at the level he would have been in a different region.

Sorry Qatar look on a par with an Estonia or the Faroe Islands look awful

I will say that they (Qatar) look a shell of the team that showed up in the Americas. They played the Gold Cup with a lot freedom and attacking intent. #11 (Afif, I think) was a nightmare.

At the moment they look very aware of the stage, and they're shrinking on it.
