The Official Euro 2016 Megathread

Good result for Ireland this. Chance of Italy resting players in the final game - can't remember if yellow cards get wiped after the groups, if not then those on one will possibly be left out - and Sweden not overhauling them.

Edit: Just checked, yellows don't get cancelled off until after the QFs. So Chiellini, Barzagli, De Rossi may all be rested.

I don't think they do - I'm sure I heard someone say that on the commentary the other day. Still a few games left before they're wiped.

May have got some of the tactics wrong in the first game but by and large they worked and the second game showed how tactically astute he was. If ever there was a manager that motivates as well as tactically knows how to get the best out of a limited bunch then this was a perfect showcase for him.

Might some teams who look set for an easy first knockout game look to play players who are likely to pick up another yellow in the final group games and have them suspended for the round of 16 rather than risk them missing QFs?
 
Italy have Chiellini, Eder, Bonucci, Motta, De Rossi and Buffon on a yellow. Will they rest the lot?
 
Poor performance, clean sheet, brilliant goal, 1-0, job done. That's for 2004 Swedes!

You'd have thought they'd get wiped after last 16. 2 yellow cards in 5 games and you miss the semis. Harsh
 
They only wipe them so you don't miss the final due to two yellows. Seems a fair system as far as I'm concerned, do it any earlier and you'd have to have two phases of them being wiped.
 
Drawn Croatia in the sweepstake & not unimpressed with what I have seen of them so far - more than capable of winning this & progressing through after 2 games
 
Croatia completely on top but no real quality in the final third so far.
 
Croatia have the makings of a quality team. I'm not sure I'd swap Modric or Rakitic for any other central midfielder in the tournament.
 
Agreed. Their midfield is really excellent. I could see them at the very least getting to the quarters.
 
Good finish (but shocking defending).

Really like the look of Croatia.
 
What a lovely goal. Croatia are looking so good. I would dread playing them later in the tournament. Threats from everywhere.
 
Sloppy from Czech but a quality finish from Perisic.
