The Official Euro 2016 Megathread

I would say we're highly unlikely to come up against another team who a) are in the position to settle for a draw and b) will play a flat back five with zero intention to attack so it's tough to draw too many conclusions about how we need to combat that situation.

For the good of the tournament it was excellent to see Coleman's tactics come unstuck.

I think the best manager of all the home nations is Michael O'Neill. May have got some of the tactics wrong in the first game but by and large they worked and the second game showed how tactically astute he was. If ever there was a manager that motivates as well as tactically knows how to get the best out of a limited bunch then this was a perfect showcase for him.

Sweden certainly having the better of this one. Italy unable to remotely get anything going so far.

He'll more than likely be working in the Championship if not Premier League next season.

I thought Sturridge played as the10 to Vardy's 9, and did quite well.
Sterling should never have been on the plane, useless!

I have a telepathic link to Woy, I was in a little taverna with all of the boys from the village footie team, great lads and I had a 1 cypro bet with all of them before the game.

The banter was hilarious, and I won 10 cypro's, but Woy has got to get clinical if we are to get on well in the knock outs.

Lallana, Dyer, and it pains me to say Rooney, were Simply excellent at their required jobs, and Rooney was everywhere, driving , pushing and cajoloing the kids.

Delli Alli has yet to meet up with his reputation, but way to go baby Rashford. A nervous first 5 minutes, but I like the kid, and he grew with every subsequent minute. As for Mark, you must be the most miserable workmate anyone ever had, you should marry yourself then you could nag yourself to death from both sides and never be wrong, except of course you never are.

It's the workplace, it's comradeship, it's (dare I say it) friendship, or in your case it's " o me misere " or whatever the correct Latin is for being a miserable fucker, forever.

Sweden showing that Italy despite being fantastically well organised have some very ordinary attacking players

And my workplace manner has come across how?

Zlatan thankful for the offside flag!

Naughty from Larsson there, never looking to play the ball. It's been pretty dire stuff this game, distinct lack of quality from both sides.

Yeah, two poorest games of the tournament in succession.

Best thing about it is this tweet from Boring James Milner:

I've got to say, Italy v Sweden has been the game of the tournament for me. What a belter, it has everything.

Nearly a great goal there to nick it for Italy, lovely passing move right from the back and ends up headed against the woodwork.

Lovely ball in by Giacherrini and Parolo really should have scored.

Top finish by Eder. Done bugger all and pops up with that.

The game didn't deserve that but a lovely finish.
