The Official Euro 2016 Megathread

IMO it's the 3rd place teams having a chance to go through that kept all three rounds of the group stage interesting.

My EURO 2016 best XI

Neuer

Piszczek Pepe Bonucci Taylor

Kroos Ramsey

Payet Ozil Bale

Greizmann

Buffon

Kimmich
Bonucci
Koscielny
Guerriero

Kroos
De Rossi

Ramsey
Griezmann
Payet

Pelle

Neuer

Kimmich
Bonucci
Chiellini
Vertonghen

Kroos
Krychowiak

Gianluigi Buffon

Lukasz Piszczek - Ragnar Sigurdsson - Leonardo Bonucci - Jonas Hector

Nani - Aron Gunnarsson - Grzegorz Krychowiak - Balazs Dzsudzsak

Cristiano Ronaldo - Antoine Griezmann

Ramsey was the tougher leave out, IMO. Bale was great obviously but not better than Nani or Balazs.

Nice to see Ronaldo referring to his teammates as "colleagues" there, obviously got a close relationship with them.

I know it's about opinion but I wonder what you watch sometimes. Gunnarsson instead of Kroos, or in fact Witsel, Pogba, Matuidi, Khadira, or almost any other midfielder.

I think you may attribute to much to what those players have done beyond this tournament rather than their performances in France by themselves.

Gylfi and Bjarnason were far more impressive than Gunnarsson if you really wanted to pick an Icelander in midfield (no real reason to tbh)

I'm pretty sure I can make my own mind up on what I've seen and pretty confident Gunnarsson isn't in the top 20 midfielders in this tournament.

It's a shame Sissoko doesn't play this well week in week out in the Premier League.
