The Official Euro 2016 Megathread

All on the defence for me, nonsense free kick to concede by Ramos then no one reacting.

Awful commentary there.

Would have been a penalty if the goal hadn't gone in - No it wouldn't. Giaccherini went over De Gea, not the other way round.

De Gea would have been sent off as a result - No he wouldn't. New rules.

De Gea keeping Spain in this, the Italians look to have a great understanding of what's expected of them, think that sort of tactical awareness is often overlooked in the game, maybe it'll be the next buzzword after everyone's done talking about technique.

Spain are so one paced it's untrue.

It is one of those performances that reminds me why I can't stand Del-Bosque-ball. Italy have them exactly where they want them.

That's terrible refereeing, how has he let Pique get away with that?!

Shocker! Think the little stamp was deliberate too.

Italy nearly in again!

If only the left back had a left foot he could've had a go instead of trying the square ball, they're playing some lovely stuff though the Italians.

Italians look very good. Fact they are missing Verrati, Marchisio and Montolivo is unreal

If they get through and can play like this their game against the Germans could be a classic.

All through Pellè, he's having a great game.

Really not a fan of Spain. Bunch of cocks when things aren't going their way - but one of those teams that just seem to get a massive slice of luck when they don't deserve it.

I hope Italy hold on. They've played really well.

Spain starting to push on a bit now. Italy looking more and more to counter attack. This could be the last tournament for a fair few of the Spanish players.

He's got a lovely sense of what's going on around him, not the most mobile but you get the right mix of runners around him and decent service into his body then he can produce some great stuff.

I love watching that sort of football when it's played right, big lad up top to act as a platform to build from, people knocking it into them and then pushing on for the return pass, the modern way to use a target man, shame Jackett can't seem to figure that out with his obsession for big units up top.
