Ten right so far with the Monday night games to go. Pretty good effort there Toon though I did warn you that the Bears tend to start well and flatter to deceive

I'd have also got the Bucs at Jets game right if some Bucs defender hadn't had a late hit out of bounds on Geno Smith in the last few seconds of the game giving the Jets a 15 yard penalty and a shot at the game winning FG. Dumbest of dumb penalties.

I also make it 11 right! Only Buccaneers, Bengals and Browns let me down! So far!

You seem to have a "B" block on your selections Toon. Did that letter upset you in your youth?! :icon_biggrin:
I mixed the Steelers and the Saints up when I wrote the list down. You are right. A damn fine effort getting 11 right

Anyone else see the Maurkice Pouncey injury last night? What a mess.

That was very unfortunate, hit on the knee by another of his own linemen who was trying to block a defensive player. Unfortunately, for o-linemen these are the type of injuries that occur quite frequently. The most injury-risk position in the game I would guess.

I don't know about unfortunate... It was fucking stupid IMO. I can only assume that the other O-Lineman had his eyes closed while he was making that "block" because he didn't get anywhere near the Titans player. You can pretty much rule the Steelers out of play-off contention now IMO. Without Pouncey they're weak up front, the running game has been pretty average for a while and they will really miss Mike Wallace. How long has Tomlin had to sort out the O-Line? It's just gotten worse.

I think that's a little harsh, he was trying to make a block and was a fraction late causing him to block his own guy instead. It's a matter of fractions of a second. These kinds of things happen on almost every play on the line, just most times they don't end up in serious injury. He clearly was upset and frustrated with himself, but I still say it was a bit of bad luck from a guy who was trying to do the right thing in those circumstances. As for the rest of your criticism of the Steelers, you may be right. They looked a shadow of past teams, but it is only 1 game. But you do wonder if Tomlin has run his course there. Mike Wallace is an over-rated one trick pony by the way. He's been appalling for the Dolphins through training camp, preseason and in the regular season opening game. Now he's bitching to the media about his lack of opportunities and the fact that other players were making catches while he was pretty much used as a decoy.

After the Monday games I finished with getting 12 out of 16 predictions correct! Not bad! This week's games look a lot harder to predict though, I reckon I'll be lucky to get 5 or 6 correct.

He's a useful one trick pony though. Especially when you have absolutely no other deep threat in your team at all. Pittsburgh are just too easy to defend against atm, at least Wallace gave teams something to worry about. Take Heath Miller out of our offence and we have nothing to offer. At least we're not as bad as the Jags...

How good did the Eagles look Monday night btw? McCoy is just amazing. Best running back in the league outside Adrian Peterson IMO.

Chip Kelly's high tempo offence was something to behold. Be tough to counter that and imagine it with a decent QB?!

Still think the niners are a class apart even if I don't like them. Glad to see my Saints coming back and playing like they can. The Jags are hilariously bad, anyone for a London franchise?

Week 2 schedule and predictions (in bold):

New York Jets at New England Patriots
Tennessee Titans at Houston Texans
Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens
St. Louis Rams at Atlanta Falcons
Washington Redskins at Green Bay Packers
Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears
San Diego Chargers at Philadelphia Eagles
Dallas Cowboys at Kansas City Chiefs
Miami Dolphins at Indianapolis Colts
Carolina Panthers at Buffalo Bills
Detroit Lions at Arizona Cardinals
New Orleans Saints at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Denver Broncos at New York Giants
Jacksonville Jaguars at Oakland Raiders
San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks
Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals

I quite enjoyed the match between the Cowboys against the Giants and was suprised how well the Giants were after a lot of hype with them not performing this year.

Also I am seeing Baltimore vs the bengals at the M&T Bank Stadium in November.

My predictions are

New York Jets at New England Patriots
Tennessee Titans at Houston Texans
Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens
St. Louis Rams at Atlanta Falcons
Washington Redskins at Green Bay Packers
Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears
San Diego Chargers at Philadelphia Eagles
Dallas Cowboys at Kansas City Chiefs
Miami Dolphins at Indianapolis Colts
Carolina Panthers at Buffalo Bills
Detroit Lions at Arizona Cardinals
New Orleans Saints at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Denver Broncos at New York Giants
Jacksonville Jaguars at Oakland Raiders
San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks
Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals

James do you mean either the Bengals, Jets or Steelers, cos Baltimore can't be playing themselves ?

Loving those prison overalls, A mate of mine has season tickets at the Jets and he says the pre game stuff is mental out there. Although he did say its $12 a beer inside!

Ever wonder what it is NFL players are saying to each other on the sidelines? Pretty sure it's not this:

To be honest, for me it's not a case of not liking college football, it's a case of not knowing it. It doesn't get shown over here, and I therefore have very little understanding of how it is organised and who the good teams are. Apart from those teams, of course, who consistently have players drafted into the NFL. My knowledge is generally dictated by who the Bills draft. As such I am fond of Clemson, because of CJ Spiller, and FSU because of EJ Manuel. I have really no idea if either of those teams are good or even likable!

ESPN America devoted most of Saturday afternoons and evenings to College Football, 3 hours of College Gameday followed by 3 + live games if you have the stamina for it. Now BT have ESPN the coverage is not quite so prolific but there will still 5 live games over the weekend.
The problem for me is that it tends to have inherited the "The Evil Empire Syndrome" (That team from Manchester that plays in red who's ground is on a very large industrial estate and I cannot say the name without vomiting blood), whereby the top teams of the moment seem to dominate the coverage, in this case Alabama, who I consider the "Evil Empire" of the NCAA.
However, the college game needs a damn good clean up, too many on the fiddle, with players being paid etc. given cushy jobs, nice shiny things like flash motors etc. This Johnny "Football" thing where his old man's money bought him justice with a half game suspension when in my opinion he should have been kicked off the programme, but as money talks in the NFL so it does in the NCAA!

PS How come I've become Christophe Berra when he's no longer with us and not dead?

PPS Who is it that is trying to hack my account?

11 out of 16 predictions right from this past week's games. Missed on San Diego beating the Eagles, KC beating Dallas, Bills beating Carolina, Cardinals beating Detroit and the Seahawks beating the 49ers. A couple of surprises there and some surprise teams generally.Who'd have thought that the Chiefs would go from 2-14 last year to looking like play-off contenders this year? Detroit shouldn't be losing to Arizona, but they always seem to find a way to mess things up!

On to this week's games:

Kansas City Chiefs at Philadelphia Eagles
Arizona Cardinals at New Orleans Saints
Cleveland Browns at Minnesota Vikings
Detroit Lions at Washington Redskins
Green Bay Packers at Cincinnati Bengals
Houston Texans at Baltimore Ravens
New York Giants at Carolina Panthers
San Diego Chargers at Tennessee Titans
St. Louis Rams at Dallas Cowboys
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New England Patriots
Atlanta Falcons at Miami Dolphins
Buffalo Bills at New York Jets
Indianapolis Colts at San Francisco 49ers
Jacksonville Jaguars at Seattle Seahawks
Chicago Bears at Pittsburgh Steelers
Oakland Raiders at Denver Broncos

Again, a few difficult ones to predict here, games that could go either way, I think I'll be lucky to get 8 right here.

Raiders will beat the Broncos, first snap of the game Houstin will break Manning in half.
