I think I've had all of the main Trappist brews from Belgium (including the Westvleteren 12 which can be harder to get).

I don't think any of them are better than the de garre tripel which you can usually only get (on tap) in their bar. Although it is brewed by Brouwerij Van Steenberge which is a fairly big Belgian brewery.

I feel like I’ve seen that on a label before, but I might just be remembering the distinctive spelling of “Brouwerij” (for US shelves, anyway).

Where’s this bar at? Sounds like a place I should put a pin in, for whenever I get over the anxiety of accidentally going broke when I first travel across ye olde Atlantic Ocean.

They had some incredible stuff I’ve never seen anywhere else. I yearn for the day I have another brew from Haandbryggeriet (Norwegian brewery; just remarkable beer regardless of my obsession with Norway).
