The NFL Thread

Texans have the best defense left in the playoffs. They also have the worst QB left in the playoffs. They'll beat the Patriots though I think.
It will be a tough game. Stroud is unlikely to have such an off day again, but the defence wont have another 2 TD game. Pats D is good, Vrabel knows the Texans well, and Maye is a better QB than 42 year old Rodgers.
A low scoring affair probably decided by one play.

It probably had to happen after how vocal the crowd in Pittsburgh was last night.

I would expect that they're about to get a vicious curl of the monkey's paw. And some other team is going to land a very, very good coach in Mike T.

Only Zac Taylor left from the AFC North.
The irony of this is fucking incredible btw

Oh my god, please. Inject that man's attitude directly into my veins.

They are not close enough to being genuine contenders, and obviously need a new QB. Trade away their best assets for future draft picks, 'enjoy' a couple of losing seasons, and rebuild.

No losing season was as much a curse as a blessing. No high draft pick.
7, 1 and done's becomes purgatory. Like Harburgh, no point keeping someone because of past achievements if you don't think he can take you there again. I also don't think the quick turnarounds at the likes of the Jags and Pats does that type of established coach performing just adequately any favours. There as only 1 repeating Division champion this year which shows how things can change with the right decisions

We ought to send @Tony Towner a care package if Patullo is the only one.
Nah, as my post said yesterday as long as he was prepared to make this change he was always going to be OK. Has a team ever fired a HC the year after winning the SB? I mean they got heat for Pederson 3 years after. Him not calling plays is a problem though as anybody who comes in and does well will leave to be a HC so you are always a year or 2 off instability, Campbell has found the same in Detroit. You then need someone who can maximise Hurts strengths which is essentially doing a few things well - designed runs, ball security and deep balls whilst not making that too one dimensional.

Anyway looks like Patullo is still going to be around in some form or other, which either shows a lack of ego or pride depending on your view.

Bills WR Tyrell Shavers played the entire 2nd half of the game on Sunday, including special teams snaps on kick and punt returns, on a torn ACL. 😮 Buffalo has lost 3 receivers to IR in a week. I mean, they aren't GOOD receivers, but it means now they only have 3 who are healthy.
