Depends what he is. Denver, Philly, Atlanta and Carolina all QB needy teams passed on him. Then Jags, Jets and 49ers went elsewhere. No idea if he's any good, but not being Andy Dalton makes the Bears more interesting

I don't watch college football so I don't invest early in the hype that these players get but year after year it keeps getting proved to me that the draft is a crap shoot and none of them are worth the hype, you may as well draw names from a hat. None of this years QB's that have started from day 1 have been particularly worthy of the hype and that goes back several years.

Don't really agree with this where QB's are concerned. It's not always the top guy though. If you look at last year Herbert is going to be a Top 5 QB and went after Burrow and Tua. Really difficult to rate QB's in year 1 as by definition with the odd exception they were drafted by shit teams

Pre season narrative, the Eagles aren't as bad as people think. If they can keep their Oline healthy they can be competitive. Game 4 4/5 out

I know that's how the stat sheet looks, but wasn't really the case. They are playing with 2 deep safeties and shite linebackers which just lets teams run on them. It's all about not giving up big passing plays, but 11/12/13 play drives are fine if it gets you the touchdown. Apart from the 1 of his 3, Hill was there just to finish. You are correct though, against zero pash rush the OL held up well.

Nail on head.

Often being the best QB coming out of college means you're drafted by a hellhole of a team. Tons of high quality QBs of fallen victim to this and never recovered. Derek Carr's older brother is one such example. Got absolutely murdered in 2002 as the expansion Texans' first pick. Never stood a chance.

You're not wrong, I just feel that too often the blame is laid wholly at the feet of the individual player.

Look, JaMarcus Russell was going to be an absolute disaster no matter where he was. But that situation was absolutely exacerbated by how much a shitshow the Raiders were at that time. Whatever teeny tiny chance Russell may have had at success was absolutely snuffed out by the team that drafted him, something he really didn't have that much control over.

Same can be said for players like Josh Rosen, the aforementioned David Carr, and basically any Cleveland QB prior to Baker Mayfield, just to call out a few.

Fully agree. As I love pointing out, a good offensive line (and an all-time great defense, in fairness) let Trent fucking Dilfer win a Super Bowl.

He was drafted from a small school because he has cannon of an arm, this season was always going to be a massive learning curve, so much too early to say he's overhyped or the like. Personally I hope he fails because he and his family are unpleasant right wing pricks.

Was at the game today. Nothing to add on Wilson than what TT said but we lost the game today because if you allow a solid (more than) experienced QB to do whatever he wants on every single play then you’ll lose. Which comes back to the convo the other day about promising QBs usually being drafted to shit tip teams (as the Jets always are) obviously and what really are they expected to do.

Spurs stadium is ridiculous to be fair. Spent some time fantasising what it would have been like to see Raul score that winner there in early 2020 before snapping back to NFL reality.
