The NFL Thread

Surprised the Bills didn't effectively down that play. The Jags completely unable to stop Allen on the tush push, could have run the clock down to twenty seconds with the three time-outs and still had 3 downs to score.

Matters not as Lawrence is picked off.

Jeez, that hurt me. Another brutal way to lose.

To be fair the throw was there, just dropped it.
Yeah tough to put that one on Lawrence for me, it was defended to perfection.

Jacksonville’s defense had a couple of chances to seal things and couldn’t. Ultimately I think it’s a game that neither team “deserved” to lose. Only one stat counts at the end, though.

I have no idea how anyone throws shade at Josh Allen. Statistically the best QB in NFL postseason history.

Depends on the stats. 7 SB wins, trumps any QB rating / completion % for me. Does anyone still throw shade?
Plenty of media in the US. Ryan Clark and Cam Newton yesterday did.

And winning takes a whole team. Allen has done everything in the playoffs to win. The coaches and the defense has let him down time after time. He has always done way more than his 1/11th.

But not the most important stat.

I give you hard time about him; in my heart I think he should be remembered as another Marino if he never wins a Super Bowl. Problem is, each year it gets harder to believe he'll ever do that. Not necessarily because of him, just because he hasn't won one playing damn near perfect hero ball the last couple of seasons.

It definitely feels shitty, but the fact is that Trent Dilfer is more accomplished than Allen, no matter what the stats say about them as individuals. The Lombardi is the measuring stick when you start getting into GOAT talk. Fairly or not, QBs always bear the praise or blame.

I'll say this: I'm not sure there's another currently starting QB that is properly ahead of Allen just now. Drake Maye is probably the only other guy I'd consider, and it's way, way too soon to be putting those two in the same conversation.

When your All Pro CB fluffs the 2nd play of the game, it's probably going to be a long night.

Wasn't expecting that start, the Niners don't usually do chunk plays so that's the perfect start.
