The NFL Thread

I dont think ordinary fans enjoy the Chiefs or any team winning every year, and right now the Lions are the team to beat. Sometimes I don't know how they do it - their opponent dominates time of possession, has more total yards, more on the ground, more through the air, Goff hardly throws it - yet the Lions run up a cricket score!

In the Lions and Vikings you are seeing the impact of an elite coordinator, one on the offense the other the defense. Their schemes maximise the talent. They'll both be hired away next year, although with Flores it's complicated and you'll see a drop off.

Fwiw I don't think KC will win the SB this year. Their results are better than their performances which I think will catch up with them eventually. They have a knack of catching teams at the right time, the Bucs tonight without their WRs for instance.

If ever the old adage about the first 2 weeks of an NFL season being a mirage proved to be true then it's the 2024 Saints

Dak out for multiple weeks for the Cowboys, that coupled with CeeDee Lamb likely being out also practically ends their season.

So predictable with the way Jones ran their off season. They have ownership who have simply lost interest...sounds familiar.

A touch of Todd Bowles cowardice and the obligatory awful call from the refs in a Chiefs game gets them the win

Didn’t get any sense of a bad call in the stadium, but Chiefs were not great. They do keep marching on though, proper winning machine. Without Mahones they would be screwed. Great experience, better weather might have been good.

Good. He’s been overrated for a few seasons now.

That is not good. The roughing the passer seemed obvious enough (could easily be a facemask too), but the holding is a slam dunk. He is rugby tackling the receiver before the ball even arrives.

Panthers win a second straight game. End of the road for Brian Daboll and Daniel Jones?

The owner has said that Daboll and Shoen(sp) are staying. I think they can get out of the Jones deal at the end of this year. Deion Sanders' lad at QB next year?

Going from Prime to Daboll would be a hell of a cultural whiplash.

What's with this kid Hunter at the top of the draft listed as a CB/WR. Does he really play both or is it just a gimmick and he'll be one or the other at NFL level?

It’s no gimmick; Hunter is a freak.

I can’t possibly imagine he’d be able to continue playing both sides in the NFL as the physical and mental demands would be extraordinary. He definitely looks like he’d be able to play either position at an NFL level, though.
