The NFL Thread

I notice tickets go on sale tomorrow for the NFL games at the Spurs stadium - do they usually go really quickly? Few of us are quite keen to go, but wondered if we need to be fast at getting tickets on release.

A lot go to NFL season ticket holders. General sale will go more or less straight away. In the past you've had to pre register, not sure if that is still the case.

I've pre-registered but don't know if I'm even going yet.

We have tickets for Game 1 (which I can't get to if anyone is interested) and hoping to get tickets for Game 2 which my brother and I are going to make a weekend of. Home vs West Ham on the Saturday and NFL on the Sunday... Don't even think of moving the game, Sky!

I applied but didn’t hear anything. So clearly missed out…

How many you got and I might take them off your hands if you don’t mind!

My brother will be going, just me who can't make it, so just the 1.
I will have to check with Gerry whether he has someone but if there is interest he'll be happy to meet another of the Wolves lads

Tell me more…
"The countdown is on! From tomorrow (Wednesday 25th August), you will be able to purchase tickets to the 2021 NFL London Games when the Atlanta Falcons host the New York Jets (Sunday 10th October, kickoff 2.30pm) and the Jacksonville Jaguars take on the Miami Dolphins (Sunday 17th October, kickoff 2.30pm). We are pumped for our grand return!

Tickets will go on sale from 10am tomorrow (Wednesday 25th) and you can get in the queue from 9.30am - please do not join before 9.30am as you may be kicked out of the website when trying to purchase due to the length of time you have been on the site.

If you have multiple accounts set up, you will be able to use any of them to purchase tickets. If you cannot remember your password or client reference number, we recommend you create a new account rather than trying to retrieve your log-in details. If you do not yet have an account, you can create one during the booking process. Once you have completed your purchase, your client reference number will appear next to your name in brackets in your confirmation email. Please make a note of this as you will need it for future logins.

We can't wait to welcome you all back to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Be ready to get your tickets this Wednesday as, once they're gone, they're gone!"

Jameis Winston named the Saints' starter at QB, which I feel all sorts of conflicted about.

and the Deshaun Watson rumours have started up again. Several sources saying he could be traded by Tuesday, with Dolphins and Panthers as favourites.

Supposedly no team has met the asking price, but with the Texans being an absolute clusterfuck right now, somehow it would not be surprising if they trade him away for pennies on the dollar.

Patriots have released Cam Newton (can he play centre midfield/half?) leaving Mac Jones as their starting QB.

Mac is a stud. It's criminal that he slipped all the way to 15th in the draft (relative to Burrow going #1 overall last year).

Feel a bit sorry for Christian Wade: no chance to play in preseason last year because of Covid, injures his shoulder just before preseason this year and misses it again. Now had season ending shoulder surgery and been put on injured reserve meaning another season missed. It looks likely that his NFL dream is over, no team is going to put him on their active roster based on 4 downs of football 3 seasons ago. Shame for the lad.

For those who like a gamble, one of the big preseason bets is how many games each team will win. The bookies think the Lions will win 5 games. There are more bets on them for the over than for any other team.
There are also more bets on them for the under than for any other team.

As the season kicks off tomorrow anyone want to make some predictions?

AFC Champion
NFC Champion
Super Bowl winner
MVP
ROTY

Could be other categories I guess but those seem the main ones.

My predictions:
Chiefs
Rams
Chiefs
Josh Allen
Trevor Lawrence

Rams
Chiefs
Rams
Pat Mahomes
Mac Jones

Don't think the Rams will get the number 1 seed because of their division, but will come through the play offs.

Did one yesterday with lots of categories a couple of which were 5 teams guaranteed to make the play offs, I went Chiefs, Packers, Bucs, Bills, Titans and 5 guaranteed not to, Texans, Jags, Jets, Lions, Bengals
