The NFL Thread

Struggling to think of how they could possibly put together a trade that would interest Green Bay.

Green Bay using a first rounder to sign a backup QB and a 2nd rounder to sign a RB, then re-sign Jones to a $48m deal. Baffling

They'll be able to using picks in future drafts - if Rodgers is saying "trade me or I'm not playing" what else can they do?

€38m dead money, would eclipse the Eagles and Wentz deal. You'd be better off challenging him to sit for a year and getting a haul in February. Was mentioned on AtNFL that Horn was a Packers pick, but then why bother getting another CB in the first round?

Signing Love shot him mentally, just like signing Hurts did to Wentz, they just reacted differently on the field. GM's outsmarting themselves

Horn went to the Panthers? Which was weird because I think most boards had him as the third best DB in the draft. Good player, but very rough around the edges. Kind of a Jalen Ramsey type.

Now there's a player who I would be stunned if he doesn't succeed at the NFL level.

So in the 3rd round, with their first pick of the draft and gaps all over the team, the Texans choose a QB.
It doesn't matter that Davis Mills was projected to go much higher, QB is not their position of greatest immediate need.

Well if Watson isn't playing or coming back and they think he is decent, then I don't mind it. Tyrod Taylor is at best the 30th best QB in the league.

Question for those living in the US. Are the characters they get to go to draft nights real people? Do they really dress and behave like that in their 40's and 50's? These people are allowed guns?

At 37 Philly picked a Center who will turn 23 at the start of the season who has done his ACL in both knees, had operations on both ankles and OL not one of the bigger needs. What's not to love?

Barry Holmes is obviously in charge of their medical department...

Get that but they described him as the best interior lineman in the best ability wise. Best time to take an injury risk is when you have cover.

He's failed to finish 4 of his 5 seasons. It's a risk a top team could potentially afford to take, not one with holes right throughout their roster, particularly in the secondary. The risk reward ratio isn't worth it against that backdrop and at 6ft6 and 23 stone there's a hell of a lot of weight to go through that lower body. After picking an injured Sydney Jones in the same round 4 years ago you'd think it may have been a lesson learnt.

Too much is placed on the outcome of the drafts too early anyway. Raiders killed for taking that Rd 1 OL. Then before their 2nd pick there was a huge run on linemen, they ended up taking a guy many thought would have been a 18-26 range talent. People don't learn, fans or analysts, just get caught up in the drama.

I take it back. Mills is considered a future starting QB. If the Texans are going to trade Watson then I wish they had done it a couple of months ago so could have had more draft picks this year. But since they won't be challenging for anything other than last place this year, then I guess a potential starting QB is a low risk move.

Christ. Just put day three on for a bit. These people are actually scary!
