Punts' title in all but name, being 150 points ahead with one week to go. Completely deserved too looking at his weekly places.

I'm the only one who hasnt managed a single first place. For shame.

Didn’t know that... stay away from Tucker he can kick!

I'd rather have Robbie Gould back!

After analysis it seems there was a touch on the ball by an Eagle defender

Much like the Redskins season I've turned to shit when Alex Smith got injured.

Methinks you're underestimating the difficulty of the job.

Regardless, Parkey went through the season as the 28th ranked in terms of accuracy. He'll be off the team for sure.

Maybe I’m spoiled with Matt Bryant. I honestly don’t worry that he will miss any time and he’s in his 40s.

I’m not buying it’s that hard either. In rugby you have to do it from all kinds of angles (and actually be able to play rugby too) these guys kick from the centre of the field every time.

I'd agree with that Punts and ironically punting is much harder than kicking the FG's.

It’s mostly in their head and being able to make the kick under pressure. I imagine they all make 99/100 in practice. Not as easy as rugby though as the ball has to be snapped and held, you have to time the run up and you have a load of massive guys running at you.

Yeah if it’s a shit snap then they get some leeway. But most of the time that’s fine. The guys running at you are irrelevant, if it’s blocked it doesn’t tend to be your fault (if your hitting a long one then it’s a lower trajectory and you’re not expected to make it etc.) unless you shanked it, in which case it wasn’t going through anyway.

When you’ve got these kickers missing XPTs twice in a game... They literally have one job and get paid like $1m a year for it.

Rugby kicking is far more difficult. The maximum angle is the hash marks - what, five yards from the centre line? Rugby kicks can be right from the touchline, meaning a much more difficult angle. Gavin Hastings pissed it as a kicker in the European Football League.

I would back Leigh Halfpenny to be a supreme kicker in gridiron, for example.

He booms them like 50 yards in rugby and I’d imagine an American football is easier to kick further (well it has to be), so yeah. He’d be elite

I have seen 1/2p kick from well inside his own half so he has an absolute seige gun of a boot. Plus imagine if you did a fake kick routine and had him running at a broken defensive line. It would be carnage.

I went to one of the NFL live events and they were talking about what goes into some of the special teams plays and how they work in practice and memorise number of seconds from the ball being snapped to the place holder setting the ball and then the kick itself, if its a bad snap or the holder takes an extra split second to set it, it can throw the kick way off.

With that in mind I do have some sympathy when its a highly pressured situation, but as it is their only job and they practice this so often there is a very small margin for error. Once kickers start missing them in big games it's hard for them to overcome, Walsh for the Vikings being a good example and the kicker Aguayo who was drafted in the 2nd round a few years ago.

KC Chiefs (30-21 is the predicted score), La Rams by a field goal, chargers by a single point would do and Saints by a lot

Well that was a difficult selection. I found it harder to make than the regular season stuff, the money doesn't seem to go anywhere!

Sorry bear had a brain fart.

Was thinking next year of doing a head to head to add to the game.

If we can get 2 more players 2 groups of a TWF North and south made up of 4 players going to head to head with top of each league having a final game on week 19 (round after wildcard) to decide the winner. It’d be based on wins and losses kinda like the NFL is based now.

Any interest anyone?
