The Music Thread Strikes Back

Guy I know, plays in a band with a couple of close friends of mine. Just charity gigs and open mics mainly. He has cancer which is almost certainly terminal in a quite short space of time. His son got in touch with the Cavern Club and they invited him to do a gig yesterday. 2 encores and he reckons he felt 10 feet tall afterwards.....music is a great thing, most people in the world are lovely.

If you thought the music prices were horrid The Civic have just announced The Undertaker in July. That's going to be a starting price of £100 easy, hate to think what prices the meet and greet and pics are going to be.
£133 -£166 are the standard non meet and greet tickets.

that's a bit ridiculous.
i saw the email and got mega excited just seeing the "under" part of the name on the announcement. There was me thinking one of my fave bands was being announced.

charlatans announced for the civic in december. to be fair, they are ramping up the bookings and getting decent quality in imo.

Foo fighters about to announce a 2024 UK tour. Wonder what prices they will set?

Unfortunately almost certainly too rich for me, pity, I've never seen them and would love to.
Maybe my eldest will buy me a ticket so I can go with him, he's a big fan.

I somehow missed out on the news that Taylor Hawkins had passed away last year.

If they're under £100 a ticket I'll be very surprised.

Hope the foos come to Oz. Still gutted about missing the Murrayfield gig when Dave broke his leg.

Mate of mine is off to Download for two days today. He's a huge Alter Bridge fan, but says he'll also be watching Halestorm, Metallica, Evanescence and Pendulum.

Doesn't look a great lineup tbh and he was bemoaning the lack of the old "legends" bands playing it this year. Metallica even play it twice this year.

Placebo are a bit mild for Download aren't they?

That looks a decent line up to me, quite a lot of variation in the rock genre. I wouldn't want to go to a festival and have 4 days solid of really heavy bands (or just classic rock and soft rock)

Metallica are doing two dates in every venue this tour with not a single song repeated. Seems a cynical grab your money for two attendances move to me.

Anyway - Foos Brisbane tickets on sale in the morning so fingers crossed.

It’s a decent line up

Tickets for Foo Fighters at Suncorp successfully snaffled. GA 2 was the best we could get. GA 1 by the stage sold in 45 seconds. $200 Au for a ticket so about £112.
