The Music Thread Strikes Back

The Lambrettas at the Northallerton Community Centre on the 26th May 1980, the Mod was strong in me back then!
I then had a gap for quite a few years and the next one was Stereophonics, Word Gets Around tour on the 13th March 1997 at the Manchester Apollo

Terrorvision at the Civic Hall 24th October 1994.

They were brilliant.

Just realised that was 25 years ago!

Slayer and Nuclear Assault. South of Heaven tour. September 1988. Metallica was three weeks later. Then Maiden in the December.

cracking choice to see them then! At their peak. I first saw maiden in december 1990, as they started the decline...

I was there too (I think we may have discussed this?)
Seem to remember lupine howl & I had been to loads of the same gigs!

If What the Doctor Ordered was to say that What Makes You Tick was to have III Wishes would it by Easy to display Perseverance and use them all or would you end up drinking Tequila and Killing Time with your friend Josephine, regardless if she was a Bad Actress?

I am impressed that you actually took the time to come up with that :icon_lol:

I would have been more impressed if you'd got Don't Shoot My Dog in there too...

This is no time to be a Mugwump. If I Was You, I'd try to stay off of the Celebrity Hit List.

Best selling though, innit.

Though I admit to liking White Ladder and Back to Black. The rest of them can fuck off though.

What a bland, tepid, uninspiring list. I get it is radio 2, but fuck me the list is mainly a series of flash in the pan type temporarily popular shite.

jeez, why even post that LJ?

anyway, it's tenth year of me doing annual cds for mates. it's true the cd is well and truly dead of course but i least i just about made it a decade's worth.
looking back at 2010 is a bit sad as mark linkous and scott hutchison never saw out the decade, though mark had already passed away that very year. such a great songwriter but a troubled soul. it may have been my favourite album I bought that year not that it matters really. this made the list

Theres a couple of decent ones on there, Hot Fuss, Back to Black, only by the night, Eyes open and Parachutes I own and happily listen too.

I also have fond memories of David Grays album, but for the life of me apart from Babylon I couldn't remember a single song, its was more a time and place thing for me.

Off to see Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott at the London Palladium next April....slightly annoying purchasing experience though as I had a code to get priority access and that should have allowed me to buy up to 4 tickets but it would only allow 1 . Fair play to Gigs and Tours though as they responded quickly and fixed the problem.

Had an email about that last night and meant to post the info here, as suspected you'd be interested. Glad to see you've secured your tickets mate.

Fred Deakin of lemon jelly fame has a new project (The Lasters) that will be touring next feb, with a brum date. Will be acquiring tickets for that!

Heaton's a good lad as well and all tickets for his tour are priced at £30 each (not including the venues fees obvs). Could have done Birmingham but decided a jolly in London would be better

Did you pre-order the new album then Kenny? I'll be looking forward to that next year.
