The Music Thread Strikes Back

We managed to get almost to the front and had a good old dance

I like The Cure as a band, but most of the songs are so, so dreary and sound the same.

always been a bit too poppy for goth imo
didn't watch too much of glasto but i did watch the cure and thought they did a good set

Chemical Brother played a superb set yet again, lightshow is pretty mind blowing. Hard to believe that its 25 years since I got their first album.

Seeing them again this year, looking forward to it
You off to the NIA in november newbridge? If so. I'll see you there!
I missed there set at glasto, and youtube have already taken down recordings.

Yeah, fuck 'em... Bloody philistines!
Saw Madness yesterday and loved it but the "kids" at the front hadn't a bloody clue apart from 2 songs and just stood there, leaning on the rail.

Was that one of the "after the races" gigs they're doing? 2 mates of mine were heading up friday night for the madness gig.

Yeah it was. All part of their 40th year anniversary tours "At the races and other places"... They were pretty good

I saw them at Uttoxeter races a couple of months ago and they were great.

Ah man, I've just read that Janet Weiss has left Sleater-Kinney saying that the band is heading in a new direction and it's time for her to move on.

She is such an awesome drummer and was an integral part of the band. I'd probably have rather they had called it quits than move on in a new direction without her. It doesn't bode well for what the new album might sound like either but we'll see.

They're quite under-rated imo. Their musicianship is brilliant. Saw them a few years ago at the civic and they blew the roof off. Halfway through they announced they'd be playing 5 top 5 singles in a row, and I was convinced they'd played all their hits, but as usual was wrong and they belted out 5 top 5 singles.

They're superb live (always a fan of embarrassment, and wings of a dove). Have toyed with seeing them after the races at wolverhampton in august. James did an after races show at worcester a few years ago, and newmarket last year.

Kenny has a superb madness christmas jumper.

I recommend going to their House of Common gig on Clapham Common. A fantastic day, although it was really warm the one I went to . So a day sitting in the Sun drinking Gladness Lager listening to various Ska/Reggae acts, Lister from Red Dwarf doing his DJ Set and then Madness.
