The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2025/2026

Wonder if they’ve read his CV wrong and thought he’s still at Manchester United?

They're only 7 points clear of the drop (Norwich are rapidly improving under Clement and should get out of trouble) and can't buy a point away from home.

Risky indeed.

They've got Boro, Norwich and Portsmouth in their next four too. If the new guy doesn't get off to a good start the bottom three could be breathing down their necks.

Alvaro Arbeloa already confirmed as his replacement. One ex Liverpool player out another one in.

It's Carrick for the interim United gig.

Which I always feel is a very curious way to go about things, what if he unexpectedly does really well, or on the flipside, maybe the players won't bother listening to him knowing that he'll be gone in a few months.

Last time they went down this road, they hired Rangnick and said "find out why we're so shit", he told them and then they ignored everything he said.

Apparently one of the reasons they didn't re-hire Ole is that he wanted the job on a permanent basis if he did well for the remainder of the season

Let’s hope he’s from the Nancy School of Management.
Celtic should have known exactly what they were getting into. Never a manager who focuses on short term over long term which was probably doomed there from the start.

Suppose it’s a small benefit of lacking pro/rel that managers can absorb a bad run of form while implementing their tactics; clearly wasn’t going to be able to do that at a club who thinks it was born into trophies. Whole other convo.

Manchester United confirm Michael Carrick as caretaker head coach until the end of the season.

Steve Holland, Jonathan Woodgate, Jonny Evans and Travis Binnion all form part of Carrick's backroom staff. Darren Fletcher chose to return to the Under-18s, but was offered a role.

Johnathon wood gate getting stick off United fans for being
1. Ex leeds
2. Shit.
Funnily enough they never had a problem with
Joe Jordan,
Gordon McQueen,
Alan smith and a couple of other ex Leeds players including this dudeIMG_3568.jpeg

Yep (think Leeds actually gave him away for free or close enough)
