The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2025/2026

If they were a sensible club they'd go for Emery.

They are not a sensible club.

Wilfred Nonce going to get the boot at Celtic surely. Currently Celtic 1-3 Rangers.

Another one who wanted to leave so engineered his exit so he didn't lose his payoff

Darren Fletcher getting the gig until the end of the season apparently.
He's in charge Wednesday, but surely they need to get an actual manager in for the rest of the season. They can't just bumble along under Fletcher.

I know they're shit, but they're still 6th and only 3 points off 4th, and level on points for 5th if that ends up being enough for CL again. They should be having a proper push at getting back in the Champions League

Gary O'Neil may be asking Strasbourg for 24 hours to ponder his decision...

Indeed! The Athletic article say's their likely to wait until summer for a permanent appointment.

They've done the interim until the end of the season thing before with Ragnick and it didn't work, and Solskjaer was technically hired on that basis too. They're pretty close to Champions League spots, feels rather premature to write the season off.

Amorim is lucky he made it this long, don't get how he got away with the performances all last season.

It's better appointing the right candidate in the Summer than the wrong one now. If they have their man, but he'll only join at that point then it's the correct decision. History would suggest that the thinking isn't that joined up though.

They put all their eggs in winning the Europa League, same as Spurs.

Spurs correctly sacked Postecoglu regardless once it was done. United should've done likewise.
