When Fosun assess our plans next summer they should take a long hard look at Stoke and see how horribly you can fall in a short space of time if you have inadequate people making poor decisions.

Saw them a couple of months ago - battered at home by Hull and the stadium barely half full. Team full of shit loans who don't care (hi Ki-Jana) and expensive crap they can't give away.

Don't play chicken with your PL status as the Championship is only notionally "fun" for people whose matchday experience extends to opening their laptop at 3pm on a Saturday and closing it at 5pm.

It's a bit silly though as Cooper doesn't seem all that bright.

The thing is Stoke avoided what we did.

They also had an old school manager who worked wonders there (initially on a very small budget) and deserved eternal goodwill, but his time and the time for some of those players had come to an end. Bid him farewell at the right time and employed someone else who changed their style, bought different kinds of players and thrived. We did that and completely fucked up the transition (then did something completely mental afterwards).

As I say, they totally lost it when they went down. Used all the parachute money and completely wasted it. Once you do that and you've missed your 2 (at best 3) year window to bounce back, you tend to get locked into Championship purgatory or worse.

Won the U17 World Cup with England
Two seasons at Swansea, made the playoffs both times, nothing to spend
Took over Forest with them bottom of the league then got promoted in the same season. Then kept them up

His football isn't my cup of tea and he's a moaning bastard whenever they don't win but he doesn't have a failure to speak of as yet.

To add to his Forest success - He didn't want half the players he got last season (Lingard one example) and somehow managed to form a team that could compete and avoid relegation. So easy there to lose control of the group.
