The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2019/20

Why would Dyche walk away from Burnley now?
Pissed off they didnt offer decent contracts to a couple of the players whose deals expire next week. Hendricks for example offered less money.
Also told he will have a tiny transfer budget next season.

Who, though? West Ham? Everton? Us? (God forbid, but you never know what size club will be coming for Nuno if we finish in the top 4 or 5).

We would never go for him :icon_lol:

Like I say, I don't know. West Ham is a possible, though no-one will succeed there with those fuckwits owning the club.

Dyche is probably not a manager for an overseas club - my be is one of the relegated clubs from this season

He’ll be first port of call when someone panic sacks early on.

I think he would wait for the first decent prem job coming up next season.

If their takeover ever goes through then they'll go very high profile (not saying they'll be any good).

Watford are always ripe for a sacking, Pearson has done well but this means nothing, they do a lot of weird stuff a lot of the time and he's not the easiest to work with.

If their takeover goes through they will bin Steffa and spend a lot of money but I imagine that will be chucking shit at a wall and hoping it sticks.

BHA unless big investment will struggle again.

I mentioned the other day in reply to one of Deutsch's tweets, that Brighton have a net spend of £214m in the Prem.

It's from Transfermarkt but still a good indicator. They tend to undervalue players in any case.

Crazy for the team they have.

They have spent more than us in the last five years and I don't think they have one player that would make our squad.

They only survived last season because of how shocking the bottom 3 were, they’re made out to be a side working on a budget. You can see why they were eager to move Chris Houghton on.

When Dyche does leave Burnley he'll bounce around Palace, West Ham and a couple of other promoted clubs for a year or two each like Pulis did after he left Stoke.

I reckon dyche will end up at villa, last rumours I heard for the Newcastle job post takeover was Benitez back in there

If you ignore the style, he's done a remarkable job at Burnley on the resources he has. Way better than Howe

I agree. But ignoring the style is impossible. Burnley are like needles in the eyes.

I know this is very much a British-ism (or, really, a soccer/football-ism), but I still don't necessarily buy into this.

Look at Norwich this season, Fulham last season, or Blackpool in 2010/2011. Do you think their supporters would have accepted more "agricultural" play if it meant staying up? I would, personally.

Playing pretty football is all well and good, but it means absolutely fuck all to me if you're shipping goals left, right, and center.

Not trying to change your mind, Pad (I'm crazy, not stupid).

There's no joy in watching the shit that Pulis serves up.

We scored 13 goals at home in the whole of 2009/10. Two were in a dead rubber on the final day. That was not fun.

When at Uni I lived with a Norwich fan, he was adamant he'd rather see his team lose 4-3 playing attractive football than win 1-0 playing what then was known as the Wimbledon way. Lambert even played attractive football there

We stayed up under Mick playing some fairly agricultural stuff, although there were odd games that were decent. It was fairly soul destroying. Being in a competition for the turd that avoids the flush is no fun at all.
