The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2018/19

Reminds me a bit like the Darren Moore appointment. OGS got the bounce because he wasn't Mourinho in the same way Moore did by not being Pardew. Not sure he's demonstrated anything other than giving the players a lift and taking the handbrake off. Plus that chant has turned them into a monotonous PL version of Blues.

You can't knock the results by and large but I was surprised just how poor he was tactically against us, it was as if he'd never watched us play. Left Doc open all game and only made like-for-like subs when we were obviously outplaying them.

The state of the coverage of OGS becoming Utd manager is daft. You'd have thought he was the second coming rather than a tactically inept manager getting a lucky bounce.

Hope they have got a caretaker lined up for next season.

I put SSN when I had my lunch and it was OTT even for Sky.

I used to have SSN on as background every day. Can't stick it now. They either have a stupid agenda or repeat themselves every 15 minutes.

The problem with not giving OGS the job is anybody coming in to take over would have had to hit the ground running pretty hard, would have had no time to settle in before the 'we should have given it OGS' moans

Don't really get rolling news of any kind, there really isn't that much going on (MPs being cunts in new and interesting ways aside).

Much rather have music, podcasts or WS on when I'm working from home.

I stick the IPL on now in the afternoon and half watch it while I'm working.

Otherwise just Spotify.

It gets put on every now and again. They did great indepth look at Swansea the other week to see what has gone wrong. It was 5 mins of them basically showing that they got promoted, did well, sacked a few managers, got relegated and are now struggling. No reasoning or anything, just a simple they did this and are now here. I reckon 10 year olds could have done better

That's a good shout. Really enjoyed watching the IPL this week. But I am a fan of biffing so to be expected really.

I do have Drama as a back up. It's a great nostalgia fest.

Casualty
Holby City
The Bill (x2, although the first episode is a repeat of yesterday's 12pm - they're around 2002 at the moment)
Eastenders x2 (1989 or so at the moment, Frank Butcher is about to take over the Vic)
Bergerac
Lovejoy

It's quite soothing. Frighteningly sometimes an episode comes on and I know what's going to happen. In the case of Eastenders it's 30 years ago so I don't know why my mind has retained that information.

Deutsch has the tv habits of my good lady!

Surprised anyone has commented on the OGS love in. We saw the same overkill when he was appointed interim manager.

SSN had a quiet news day so the announcement was manna from heaven for them in filling the schedule. He has done well, but he seemed to have no idea how to deal with us in the cup game. Hopefully a repeat on Tuesday is in the offing because that was a pretty much full strength Manchester United that we dismantled.

Looks like QPR have binned Schteve

He had them 2 points from the top 6 before that run kicked in

Sherwood the fave to get the job for the next 9 months

14 permanent managers in 13 years.

Jesus! Didn't realise what a carousel they'd had in recent times. Only seems to be 3 of those lasted more than 12 months too.

Apparently Allardyce is tonight evens favourite with a number of bookies to take over at Albion
