They've got to be seen to go through a process I suppose, even though he was realistically the only candidate.

Not sure why we've handed him a four year deal, BFS was only contracted until the end of the World Cup. What if we get there (which we will) and we end up losing every group game to nil? Like he's going to turn down an 18 month contract and if he did, then frankly the Nosferatu lookalike can shuffle off elsewhere.

Anyway, we all knew he was getting the job, there isn't much left to say on it. We'll walk over a pissweak qualifying group and then we'll see if he can get close to emulating Sven's record in tournaments which he got lambasted for at the time but no-one else has come close to managing since. What's disappointing is that I haven't seen anything in his squad selections or his style of play which suggests we're going anywhere. There were genuinely decent signs at points under Capello and Hodgson, they just tended to lose their shit on the eve of a tournament for some reason.

Martin Allen has left Barnet for Eastleigh.

He treats Barnet like an abused spouse, he'll wind up back there when he's out of work again.

He's only had 4 separate spells in charge there, I want him to keep leaving and going back. Get it up to about 7-8 spells in charge.

Not sure what's happening at Eastleigh, have followed them from afar since Richard Hill was in charge there, as I'm quite good friends with his son. He was there for a couple of years and did pretty decent job. Since he's left they seem to be ploughing through managers. I know league football is their aim, Allen may be the man to bring it them before he goes back to Barnet for spell number 5.
