The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2015/16

It will be the Portsmouth effect. Despite doing a $#@!e job, the stuff outside of his control will be deemed as the reason for failure.

That's true. I don't know any Bolton fans around here who've got a good word to say about him, everyone reckons that he's been hiding behind circumstances, and that tactically he's useless.

Please god let bolton be toast now. 11 points adrift. Let it happen!

In other news I see karanka has put the top back on his bottle and gone back to boro. Very bizarre.

Lennon was borderline twat for me for signing shite like Heskey despite their precarious position.

On reflection of his first two years and if he left in the summer I think Jackett would be a great fit, animosity to Bolton aside.

Shite manager but he is another manager who had his team looking better than us at Molineux this year.

Jackett is a shite manger but somehow he is coated in Teflon

Antonio Conte has today confirmed he will quit the Italy post after the Euros but has not yet confirmed that his destination is Chelsea

Talk growing that Villa are going to sack Garde this week. Now granted, his record is not very good and those who appointed him have left the club - but he was handed an utterly shite squad, packed full of terrible characters who don't care and players who have no business playing in the Premier League (hello Alan Hutton and Rudy Gestede), he wasn't allowed to sign anyone in January - I don't see how anyone would have done much better. This relegation isn't on him, it's on Sherwood for some woeful transfer business and the club as a whole for 4-5 years of shocking decisions.

Worse still, Steve Bruce is being touted as the replacement - that's Steve Bruce who relegated Hull last season after spending ridiculous amounts and is currently doing his best to bottle a promotion, who used to play for and manage Birmingham.

Jamie Fullarton has been sacked by Notts County after just 70 days in charge Meadow Lane.

All going wrong at County. Up for sale as well.

They must long for the days when Zele was on loan and had them dreaming of the top 6 in League 1. Since he got crocked they have been in freefall.

It's not his fault at all but he still hasn't done great.

I'd be more worried about what Garde would do in the Championship. Would maybe be a bit like Solbakken.

Garde would have been much better suited to a mid table PL side where he would have had some time to implement his style. I think he's a god coach but should have steered clear of Villa.
The squad of players he had to work with is a rubbish, but you could easily argue only two wins ain't good enough.

If Garde goes, then who would want the Aston Villa job? As big a club as they are, the championship will not be easy for them.

Depends. If they keep the majority of the charlatans masquerading as a squad they will need an iron fist type like maybe a Pearson or possibly even Mick. If they clear everything out and go with young guns and no urgent requirement for immediate promotion then it would suit maybe a Rowett or Hasselbaink.

Literally so many people.

This always winds me up, people would love the Wolves job, Villa is like Wolves x10

But they are not such an attractive proposition in the championship. They need a major clear out, and the problems Villa have on and off the pitch will take a lot of sorting out.

This is the arrogance of some Villa fans who've dismissed appointing the likes of MM or Wharburton thinking that they're to smaller names. I've even heard them mentioning Moyes which I really can't see.
A lot of them seem to think it'll be quick fix, can't see it personally they need a squad overhaul which will take time to settle down.
I don't think they'll slide further down but I can see them spending 3-4 seasons in the championship.

Would be very funny if they went down to L1. They are, arguably, a smaller team than Leeds, Forest and Wednesday and they all took a while to get out of L1.

I disagree. A decent manager should do a great job.

If I'm Mick McCarthy who would I manage next year, Ipswich or Villa? No brainer for me.

Yes it may take a while and it won't be an instant fix but the potential is obviously huge.

One big problem for Villa is that their fans will demand an instant fix. There is a Villa fan at work, and he is convinced that they will walk away with the championship. And personally I think Pearson would be a decent choice as their next manager. He will upset plenty of people, but he will sort the club out.
