I know hindsight is a great thing, but I wonder whether Brentford now regret letting Warburton go.

Brentford may now be realising their error. Warburton is probably sitting in his office in Glasgow feeling very smug about how things are turning out.

Warburton looks very accomplished at Glasgow Rangers and could be destined for a very good managerial career.

Indeed, and I could never understand why Brentford told him he would not kept on. He took them to the play offs just a year after getting promoted. A quite remarkable achievement. It made no sense to me that he was no longer wanted by Brentford

They decided to fundamentally shift the way the club was run to a more or less pure statistical model and he was not compatible with that (or more accurately, willing to be compatible with that).

However, as I say, at this level I don't see that working out for anyone, least of all Brentford. Statistics and metrics are a very useful tool but not something you can base an entire club ethos around at a fairly high level of football, you can make it work in sub-par leagues like the Danish top flight and it's why the percentage football of the likes of Westley works at very low levels in the English game. As soon as the skill levels become higher then the metrics have less impact - in football that is, in some sports (baseball for example) then that isn't the case.

Steve Evans parts company with Rotherham.

Graham Alexander sacked by Fleetwood

Their defending against Gillingham last night was diabolical.

Terry Butcher has left his post as manager of Newport County.

The former England international was announced as County manager back in April 2015 but they are bottom of League 2 with just one win from 10 games.

He's almost as bad as Saunders. Absolutely woeful record at every English club he's ever managed.

He was screwed at Newport as soon as the chairman decided to bugger off and took his cash, leaving them to search for a pot to piss in.

The Sun (yeah, I know) reckon Advocaat is leaving after Sunderland's game with West Ham tomorrow, regardless of result.

BREAKING: Burton Albion Manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink turns down Championship club approach. Possibly Rotherham?

Advocaat has apparently said his goodbyes and immediately flown back to Holland.

Big Sam the favourite for the job.

Could explain why Nolan has turned down offers to play in France in the last week
