The Live Match Discussion Thread: 2019/2020

Either of the first half goals for us count (I can't complain about the decisions as such...I doubt the second would have been ruled out last season though) and I think we'd have won easily.

This is correct. But they didn’t and were the right decisions. They were both chances out of nothing as well. Handball was a hopeful hoof from the edge of our own area and the second was actually from us giving the Ball away followed by a handy deflection and some god awful defending.

Nearly another absolute rick by Gunn.

Barnes and Chilwell ripping Southampton to shreds down the left. Gunn just about gets away with the rick this time

4-0.

Nice ball and finish and all that but how much time are you giving Leicester everywhere?

And another, from down the left again too. Great take by Vardy.

We score the offside goal in the first half (yes VAR was right yadda yadda yadda) and we win by 2 or 3 minimum.

Perez gets his Hat-trick and then Vardy adds another. Embarrassing stuff from the Saints.

Some seriously pathetic defending once more. Could have scored 2-3 after HT even before that.

Have some pride.

7-0.

Well that’s somewhat unlikely given we never actually put teams to the sword. This isn’t a criticism it’s just the way we play.

I’m also not sure why slight (reasoned) criticism is jumped on. It’s very strange. We weren’t very good against Saints, but I’ve been over that in the other thread. I like to look at the facts, view the game objectively and then form a reasoned analysis afterwards rather than claiming a underserved illegal goal in an otherwise toothless performance would have suddenly see thrash a team for pretty much the first time this time round in the PL

I don't dispute we were poor. It's obvious from watching the game. But we were the only team creating anything. We had the ball in their net twice illegally and their goal was a defensive fuck up of monumental proportions. I still think we would have won comfortably.

Anyway, Saints are truly, truly fucking shit tonight. And that is rather amusing to watch.

I'm not sure Hassenhuttl can survive this. The final score could be a decent 20:20 knock.
