The Live Match Discussion Thread: 2019/2020

Glad you’re not running VAR. Clearly offside, and in line of sight.

Only if the goalkeeper is actively staring at him, if he watches the flight of the ball then he steps across and deals with it.

It’s irrelevant as the guy who scores is offside, in fairness Albion should have had a blatant penalty

The linesman is probably distracted by the guy standing miles offside, so failed to spot the scorer also being offside.

Stearman will either give away a penalty and get sent off or score the winner

Stearman was in full Berra mode for that. A draw is enough to FUBAR Albion anyway but I would now be surprised if Huddersfield hold on.

Yeah the goal scorer looks very much offside anyway

You’re right - the keeper should have casually had one eye on the player, and the other actively staring at the ball.

It's one thing VAR has sorted, there hasn't been a single offside goal scored in the prem with the possible exception of Everton's Vs us

He should when the ball goes absolutely nowhere near Diangana sailing about 10 yards over his head. Unless he was standing on top of a stepladder he was never getting a touch.

We’re going to have to agree to disagree......

If Albion go up they’ve got some serious work to do in a short space of time.

I think they'd go straight back down. Leeds will have a decent chance though as although they don't play like Sheff Utd they do have an unusual style that'll catch teams out

Huddersfield look dreadful, can't keep the ball for more than 5 seconds. I think an Albion winner is beginning to look inevitable.

I think they would go down but they'd be better off than not going up. They can them build the squad using the prem money and parachute payments like Norwich.

For me it's a perfectly valid long-term strategy

If they don’t go up they have serious issues. Parachute payments will be hugely reduced and Lai doesn’t seem to want to put a big sum in. There will have to be cutting of cloth.
