The Live Match Discussion Thread: 2019/2020

He’s just not a defender, at some point in his early playing someone should have realised this and developed his game in a another position.
He’d struggle at lower level as it’s the simple basics he gets wrong only saving grace at a lower level is opposition aren’t as clinical.

Penalty - yes (though Mahrez goes down easily, but you know he is going to)

Red card is somewhat harsh.

No attempt to play the ball and stops a clear goal scoring opportunity. Refs got no choice.

He denied goalscoring opportunity but I thought that double jeopardy rule came in where if it's a pen the player doesn't get sent off as well.

Double jeopardy only counts if he tried to play the ball, and he clearly doesn't.

I think that only applies if you are attempting to play the ball.

Thanks. I remember when I used to know the rules :icon_lol:

David Luiz was so bad that this is the first time I’ve seen a team “go up” to 10 men.

If I was David Luiz I’d retire with the millions I’ve earnt over my career to a luxury Villa in Spain or Portugal and just live a life of luxury instead of going through this torment week in week out.

The fake chanting carrying on unabated over Garcia’s injury was properly ghoulish, dystopian stuff.

This has been a battering by Man City. Not a bad evening for us results wise. Good to get Arsenal's goal difference down as well.

Arsenal have been pathetic. Even before the sending off!

First 15 minutes they were OK but this has been about as bad as it could have gone for them. Lucky City didn't want to over-exert themselves I guess!

Good results for us so far :D

We are objectively a better team than Arsenal. Imagine saying that at any point even in Wenger's last ten years

I thought Arsenal were ok until Luiz came on. Looked a bit weak in CM, but I guess Torreira will improve that.

The first 15 minutes or so they were ok. Once KDB started getting on the ball more they were never in the game. Usual Arsenal performance against a top side

God I hate Lucas Torreira, that two footed lunge at Neves could have ended his season and then complain that he'd been called up on it, odious little twat.
