That's appalling defending from Liverpool.
Gomez weak as piss against Wilson and then Milner has to send Billing outside, he's all left foot so don't show him onto that side, created the space for the overlap and then it's game over.
Was the clearest of pushes in Gomez. Rest is then irrelevant. I idea how it wasn’t given on The field or then VAR
There's certainly a push from Wilson but it's powderpuff stuff. I've got no idea what Gomez was looking to do, just sauntering towards the ball like he expected he'd get all the time in the world to do something with it, should've been much more decisive and either hooked it back towards the keeper or just hoofed it away. Probably more chance of him getting a freekick for a late challenge if he's bundled over after playing the ball but his indecision just made him end up looking like a mug.
Well It looked like he was getting their comfortably, and he did. Me defending there, Id be confident of getting the ball down and giving myself a few options. 1, the shithouse option, put it in the stands. 2, the safe option, pass it back to the keeper. 3, fake the keeper and try and take it out left and sustain possession in their half.
I imagine he was trying either of the latter options, but when he slowed down he got a blatant push, but he’s not fell over as he’s not expecting it. If he does like players do when they are breathed on near the byline or sideline, then he gets the foul. We all go made when a defender falls over under no pressure and gets the FK when in a tight situation. Then a defender gets a blatant push and doesn’t fall over and is punished. It falls under the category of “Howler” for me and defeating the purpose of VAR
