The Kids Thread

Yep, three months. Although she's a bloody nightmare as it is!

They don't improve. Try stroppy teenagers.

The tantrums are the same, but the language is turned up to full-on potty tongued filth.

Young mini said something to me in a row last week that actually made my hair curl. Proper swearer.

Have just been sent a video of my 3 month old giggling for the first time.

It's amazing how much of a difference that kind of thing can make to your day!

Went to watch daughter #1 sing at the Albert Hall with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra last night (in a choir obviously, not solo). Very proud parents! This is the child who struggles with her confidence and doing new things so she's just a big mess of contradictions!

But try as I might, I really can't get into classical music.

Oh my fucking life. Why did no-one say hard difficult potty training is?
This is our third attempt now and 3 days in there's little progress. Stay positive, stay calm.....

It took ages to get Belle potty trained. We eventually just had a week where we went for it with no nappies in the house and after about 3 or 4 days of wetting herself she finally understood to tell us when she needed one and started going on the potty. All kids are ready at different stages though. Belle had just turned 3 when she got trained but didn't think she was ready before then as she couldn't seem to tell when she was going to do a wee until it was too late. It is definitely more difficult than people tell you it is!

She'll be three in a couple of months and then starts pre-school a month later so we want to have her comfortably trained by then. We think she understands but she's such a sensitive child that she has convinced herself that she simply doesn't want to do it. She hates being in new situations, which is playing a huge part.
We're going to stick with it this time as she ended the day doing a huge wee in the potty (after fidgeting and holding it in for about 5 mins then leaking on the carpet, again!).

It totally depends on the child. It took my son a long time to get it sorted, but my daughter was really quick to get used to it. They'll do it when they're ready. Plenty of positive reinforcement!

So, this evening we've had a complete wee and separate poo in the potty \0/
Don't worry, this won't turn into the poopy blog, just thought I needed to give the little lady some due credit after my rant yesterday!

After coming home from work yesterday...

Me: Belle, why is your dress so dirty?

Belle: Me and Taylor were playing in the garden at nursery when an Ostrich came along and did a poo on the floor and I trod in it and it went on my dress.

I think her imagination is developing! :icon_lol:

Or maybe she saw Nigel Pearson?

Successfully built Belle a mud kitchen for the garden today. I'm usually awful at DIY but it helps when you can get free pallets and timber from work.
